I had a lot of cousins.

And a lot of us played Quidditch so when Eli suggested a game of quidditch, nearly everyone immediately said yes.

I didn't.

You see, my plan was that while everyone played Quidditch, including James... I could get close to Hannah, get to talk to her.

I really liked talking to her.

"Oh c'mon, Bree." Eli said as he followed me outside. "I need a second beater by my side."

"You also need a seeker and two chasers." I said and turned towards him. "While the other team needs a keeper and two beaters."

Eli sighed and placed his hands on his hips.

"We've got Theo and we've got Kyla as well. I've written Alec and he's going to come down to—"

"Yeah then I'm definitely not playing." I scoffed.

"Because of Alec? Oh c'mon!" He groaned. "I know he's a fucking arsehole, yeah? But this is quidditch. You love quidditch and you're a great beater. Alec isn't coming to play on our team... he's here to play on the opposite team with James, Lily, Mica and Adriana."

I took a step closer to Eli.

"Okay." I nodded. "I'll play... but we still need a seeker and two chasers. We can't play without a seeker, and without three chasers... it won't be a good game."

"And I'm working on that." He nodded. "I'm gonna ask Lillian to play seeker on our team and maybe Elias would want to play chaser... you know he's been on the Ravenclaw team for an entire year now and Marco says he's gotten better."

"You two are being way too serious about this." Mum commented as she approached us. "It's quidditch during the summer holidays. You're not at school, darlings. It's no competition... just fun."

Eli turned towards mum.

"Quidditch isn't supposed to be fun." He said.

"It's about smashing the other team." He and I said in unison and mum couldn't help but laugh while I made a face at my brother, taking a step back.

"I've already talked to Elias." Mum smiled. "He basically ran outside. Bree darling, go ask Lillian to be your seeker and Eli, Robin knows how to play the chaser position... I'm sure he'll say yes and if you do... you've got a full team."

"Thanks mum." Eli and I said in unison once again and I looked at him.

"Stop doing that!" I said, pointing a finger at him. "It's creepy."

Well, my plan failed. Now I'm playing Quidditch so that was my opportunity gone lost.

I'll find another way to get Hannah alone.

"Oi, Hannah!" I heard James shout as soon as I walked outside.

I looked at him and folded my arms over my chest as I watched him approach her from where she sat in the grass, chatting with Kyla.

"We need you on our team!" James was loud as he spoke. He always were. "I know you play seeker for Hufflepuff, but you're a good keeper as well..."

Seriously?

I was going to play against Hannah?

Fucking hell.

"What are you doing?"

I jumped at the voice of my dad, then turned to see him stand there with a hand shoved into his pocket, holding a mug in his other.

"Why do everyone always sneak up on me?" I asked. "I'm not doing anything... I'm just— enjoying the weather."

"Sure." He nodded, sipping out of his mug while looking in the direction of Hannah and Kyla. "Try not to be so obvious, sweetheart. James is gonna catch on and it won't be pretty."

"I have no idea what you're talking about." I said. "I have to find Lillian... do you know where she's at?"

Dad shrugged.

"Right over there." He nodded in a direction of a few feet away from us, making me realise how blind I was. "And while you go talk to her, I will find your mother and suggest we make an appointment for you with an ophthalmologist."

I narrowed my eyes as dad turned and walked back inside of the burrow before I walked over to Lillian who laid in the grass, eyes closed.

Probably relaxing.

Though when I stepped in front of her and my shadow blocked the sun from hitting her, she frowned slightly and opened her eyes to look at me.

"Uh— move, please?" She asked. "I'm trying to get some sun."

"You're trying to get sun?" I raised my eyebrows. "You're wearing jeans and a hoodie."

Lillian sighed before she pulled herself up to sit against the outer wall of the Burrow.

"As you might know, we're going to play Quidditch... team against team." I said. "And we need a Seeker."

"So what?" She asked. "You're asking me?"

I nodded.

"You did play seeker at school."

Lillian sighed before I sat down next to her, folding my legs.

"Who's on the team?"

"Uh— I play beater with Eli. Theo's the keeper, Kyla is a chaser and so is Elias. Probably Robin as well but Eli's currently asking him so I don't know."

Lillian hummed while my eyes drifted off to Hannah who currently stood up, her arms wrapped around James' waist while she kissed him.

I gritted my teeth, running a hand to the nape of my neck as I rubbed my skin.

She looked so hot.

She was wearing light denim shorts and a white tight top tucked in. It had spaghetti straps and it showed off her cleavage.

But she shouldn't be kissing him. She shouldn't be in his arms and he shouldn't get to hold her.

He didn't deserve her.

Did I deserve her though?

Probably not.

"Okay." Lillian said. "I'll play."

Her voice snapped me back to reality and I looked at her, forcing a smile.

"Great."

Then I looked at Hannah again. They were still holding each other, talking and laughing. She was laughing.

I pulled my knees up to my chest as I wrapped my arms around them.

The door to the Burrow opened and both dad and Uncle Fred walked out, wearing their old Quidditch uniforms.

What...

I looked towards James who let go of Hannah, grinning widely from ear to ear.

"Wait, that's not fair!" Theo spoke. I hadn't even noticed he was out here. "James what the fuck?!"

"What?" James asked. "I can't ask my uncles to play?"

"They're literally the best beaters Gryffindor has ever had!" Theo exclaimed, looking panicked.

"Damn." I breathed, shaking my head. "We're gonna lose, aren't we?"

Then Eli left the house.

"Oh, no." He laughed, shaking his head. "Are you sure you two should be playing? Not scared to break your hips?"

"Excuse me?" Uncle Fred gasped dramatically and so did dad, the two looking at each other. "Did your son just—"

"We are not old, so watch your mouth!" Dad argued, pointing a finger at Eli. "Your old man still got it and so does my dear brother."

"We've already lost, dear cousin." Lillian told me. "We've already lost."
