First day of classes after a holiday, was always the toughest.

In the morning, I ate breakfast with Naomi at the Slytherin table.

My first class of the day was Defence Against the Dark Arts, taught by Professor Brindlemore.

Naomi had Advanced Arithmancy with Professor Vector and just as we left for class, we kissed goodbye.

"Damn, Sabrina!" I turned and saw Adriana approach me, her books locked under her arm. "I still can't believe you've officially got a girlfriend that isn't Hannah."

I rolled my eyes and tilted my head as I pulled at my bottom lip.

"Why are you back with Theo?" I asked, and the smile that Adriana wore, dropped immediately.

"I told you. I love him."

"I know you do, but he's a violent person, Adri. I can't watch you get hurt again."

She looked over her shoulder before she looked at me again and then she took a step closer.

"We talked it through, Breena. He's sorry and he won't do it again." She said quietly.

"I'm gonna fucking kill him. You realise that?"

"No. Breena, please don't make a scene when you see him. It's fine. It's—"

"It's not fucking fine!" I snapped. "He hurt you repeatedly. He's going to do it again!"

"No—"

"For fuck sake!" I shouted. "You're stressing me the fuck out with how naive you are!"

I marched off, making my way towards the staircase. My entire jaw was clenched as I made my way up to the DADA classroom.

This was the last thing I wanted — for Adriana to forgive and forget and get back into that violent relationship.

Theodore was dangerous and I couldn't stand that he had her back within his grasp.

During DADA, I stayed away from them both, and when classes ended, I hurried off, but as I made my way down the corridor, a hand wrapped around my wrist.

I turned and was faced with Theodore. He didn't say anything. He just dragged me down the corridor and into an empty classroom.

"What're you doing?" He asked, a certain crease between his eyebrows.

He was angry.

"What am I doing? You're manipulating her, Theodore!"

"Manipulating? No... you're the one doing the manipulating, Sabrina. You're trying to make her feel bad for forgiving me. I made a fucking mistake but I'm not going to hurt her anymore."

"Yeah right." I scoffed. "Psychopaths like you never fucking—"

My cheek stung with the sound of a smack echoing between the four walls.

I gasped, bringing a hand up to my cheek as my eyes teared up at the way it just kept stinging in my skin.

"What the—"

"Oh shit... Sabrina, I'm sorry."

"You just slapped me!" I said and looked at him. "And you expect me to believe you won't be doing that to Adriana anymore?!"

I ripped the door open and hurried out. I needed to get out of the corridor and all the way to the dungeons before Theodore could catch up with me.

I barged into the potions classroom to see if he was there, and then I moved to his office.

I knocked.

Then I knocked again.

And then again.

I heard footsteps and then the door swung open. My uncle stood in the door, but my other uncle was also in the room.

Uncle William stood by Marco's desk, both of them looking upset as if they had just been fighting.

"Sabrina?" Marco frowned.

"What's happened?" William joined his husband and looked down at me, both of them paying attention to my left cheek.

Please say it isn't visible.

"Theo happened." I breathed. "He's back with Adriana and I confronted him. I might've called him a psychopath and then he hit me."

Marco opened the door further and William stepped aside to let me in. I went straight for the sofa, dropping down onto it.

"When was this?" Marco asked.

"Just now." I said, moving a hand up to soothe the skin on my cheek. "In that empty classroom in the Serpentine corridor."

He looked at William, and then he left the office, shutting the door behind him. While I continued rubbing my cheek, mum's brother walked over and sat down next to me.

"What a start of the year, huh? First you get lectured on drugs by your uncle..."

"Alright." I breathed. "Of course he told you."

William chuckled.

"He tells me everything, Sabrina. We're married." He said. "But you smoked weed on the Hogwarts Express. That's against school rules. You could get expelled if McGonagall found out."

"Well, she won't find out." I said. "Because you won't say anything. And you know why you won't say anything? Because you don't want to be the one getting your sister's daughter expelled. That would piss mum off."

"Mum wouldn't me mad with me, though, would she?" He looked at me. "You're the one breaking school rules, Sabrina. She's be upset with you for ruining your future."

I groaned and slid further into the seat, closing my eyes.

"This new girlfriend of yours isn't encouraging you to do drugs, is she?"

I immediately looked at my uncle.

"What? No. She's only asked and I said yes. If I said no, she'd drop it." I said. "She's a good person."

Uncle William nodded, letting out a deep breath.

"Okay. That's good." He said. "And she treats you right besides not pressuring you to do drugs."

"Yes."

"The other way around too, I hope."

I nodded and pushed myself off the sofa, walking over to Marco's desk.

"Bree, what are you doing?" Uncle William leaned forward with his arms resting against his thighs.

"He took a pack of my cigs right before Christmas." I said. "Apparently I can't smoke in class, so... but I'm taking them back."

Uncle William laughed, leaned back and shook his head at me.

"You won't tell, will you?" I asked and he shrugged.

"I probably will, yeah."

"Thought so." I muttered and slid the pack of cigarettes into my pocket before closing the drawer. "Anyway. I'm late for class. It was nice seeing you Uncle Will."

I left the office, then the dungeons and hurried off to Arithmancy.

Naomi didn't have any classes for the rest of the day but I had classes all day until two o'clock, so I wouldn't see her until lunch and then after lunch I'd have to go hours before seeing her again.

I already fucking missed her.
