Sabrina
When I woke up, I was laying with my head against Naomi's chest, one of her arms wrapped around me.
I looked at her face as it was turned to one side, her lips parted slightly, and then I looked around my room.
It was pitch black outside so either it was the middle of the night or it was early in the morning.
I sat up and brushed a hand through my hair, yawning before I rubbed my face.
"Breena." Naomi muttered and rolled onto her side, reaching out for me and a smile spread on my face.
When I placed my hand in hers, a tired smile spread on her face.
"Why are you awake?" She whispered, pushing her fingers between mine.
"No reason." I chuckled. "Go back to sleep."
"No." She yawned. "I'll go to sleep when you decide to join me."
I tilted my head as I watched her eyes open slowly to look at me.
Then she yawned again and rolled onto her back before closing her eyes.
"I like you." She whispered and a short moment later, she was snoring lightly.
I stared at her.
What?
She liked me?
Liked me liked me?
I slowly got off the bed before I found a blanket to spread over Naomi's body as we had been sleeping on top of my duvet.
I left my room and walked into the bathroom I shared with Alec, locking both doors.
After I had peed and washed my hands, I walked back into my room where Naomi had woken up once again.
She was running both hands through her hair when she looked at me.
"What time is it?" she yawned before reaching for my phone to check the time. "Oh shit... it's only midnight."
I chuckled.
"How about we get undressed so we can sleep under the duvet, yeah?" I asked. "I hate sleeping fully clothed."
Humming, she moved off of the bed and started folding the blanket.
"Did you get me this?" She asked. "I don't remember sleeping with it on."
"Yeah." I nodded while pulling the duvet down to make room for us. "You fell asleep again so I thought I'd give you something to keep you warm."
Naomi smiled weakly at me as she put the folded blanket on my desk chair, then pulled her jumper off, revealing the black lace bra she was wearing.
She pushed her hair over her shoulder, then looked at me and our eyes locked.
While keeping eye contact with me, she unbuttoned her trousers and slowly pushed them down her legs.
I let out a heavy breath.
"I am so gay." I said which caused her to let out a laugh.
"And I'm unlabelled." She grinned. "But I've got no idea why you felt like sharing your sexuality with me."
I rolled my eyes at her playful tone, throwing a pillow at her which caused her to laugh loudly.
I watched Naomi as she took off her bra and then crawled into bed, pulling the duvet up to cover her.
"Are you just gonna stand there and watch me or are you going to come to bed?" She asked, watching me with her beautiful dark brown eyes.
"I was admiring you." I corrected her as I too undressed, though I found the shirt and the shorts I usually wore to bed and then crawled in bed with her.
"Admiring me, huh?" She whispered, bopping my nose. "There's not much to admire, is there?"
I rolled my eyes at her.
"You're beautiful, Omi." I said and ran my hand along her jaw, leaning in to place a soft kiss against her lips. "I heard what you said you know... before you fell asleep."
"Yeah?" She chuckled. "And what did I say exactly?"
I shrugged.
"Only that you like me."
Her expression dropped and she sighed as she closed her eyes, then let out a chuckle.
"I said that out loud?" She asked. "I'm sorry, Breena. I know you're in love with Hannah and I'm the last person you'd want to—"
"Hey." I cut her off and when she opened her eyes to look at me again, I pressed my lips to hers while resting my hand against her jaw.
My nose dug into her cheek and I moved on top of her, continuing to kiss her. I was trying to prove to her that I cared about her. That I liked her too.
Naomi had made me forget all about Hannah. I didn't care about her anymore.
When I pulled back, we were both breathing heavily as she stared up at me and I stared down at her.
"I like you too." I whispered. "A lot."
"You do?"
"Yes."
"What about Hannah?"
I shrugged.
"I deserve better than her. I deserve you."
"Sabrina—"
"What?" I asked and moved off of her, looking at her in confusion. "You like me but you don't want me?"
"Of course I want you." She sighed. "But you deserve better. You deserve—"
"Better?" I cut her off. "And who is better? Why are you degrading yourself like this? Why are you—"
"Because I'm a horrible person, Sabrina!" She exclaimed, causing the room to fall quiet.
I let out a heavy breath.
"What do you mean?"
"I—" she closed her eyes and shook her head. "...what they're saying is true. I killed my parents. They are dead because of me. My brother doesn't have parents because of me. My grandmother lost her daughter."
I stared at her as she opened up to me about her family for the first time ever.
"You did what you had to survive." I said. "It wasn't your fault what happened."
She looked at me.
"You know about what happened?"
I shrugged.
"My dad uh... he told me a few things." I said. "And you can't blame yourself, alright? What they did to you was cruel and you saved both yourself and your little brother."
She continued to stare at me for a while before she started crying silently and I pulled her against me, hugging her as she cried.
"I can't imagine the guilt you carry around." I whispered. "But there is absolutely nothing to feel guilty about. You did what you had to, yeah?"
She nodded slowly and I brushed my fingers through her hair gently.
"I'm sure your brother is grateful for you." I whispered. "You saved the both of you."
