When mum got home from work and found out I had a girl home, she got excited.
Naomi formally met both my mum and dad and I could tell that she was also very excited about meeting my mum.
After all, my mum is her role model.
When I asked mum if Naomi could stay the night, she immediately said yes while dad hurried to say that she would be sleeping on a mattress on the floor.
My dad is the overprotective one of him and mum which is a big cliche. The dad being overprotective of his kids.
We were sat at dinner and Naomi sat opposite of me, being in some deep conversation with my mum while dad and I watched and listened.
"If you two aren't dating, then what are you?" Dad whispered, causing me to glare at him. "What's that look for? I'm just saying that she seems very fond of you."
"Dad." I groaned and Naomi shortly glanced at me with a smile before she went back to the conversation with mum.
I stared at her, watching the way she smiled widely at something my mum say. Her fingers were covered in rings and I watched them as she pushed some hair behind her ear, revealing the few eyes piercings at the top of her ear and the single one at the bottom.
She had faint dimples on either cheek when she smiled and her dark brown eyes lit up.
Naomi was insecure about the shape of her nose. That was something I had noticed when we first started hanging out. She didn't like that it was slightly bigger than what todays world would call the beauty standard.
But I liked it. It suited her. It was one of the many things about her that made her beautiful.
She had this beauty spot on her right shoulder and one at the nape of her neck.
She had a scar on her hipbone that she hated. She didn't want to tell me how she got it.
She was beautiful and she couldn't see it.
After dinner, Naomi and I went up to my room and I closed the door behind us.
I stared at her, leaned back against the door as she sighed and pulled her hair up, using the hair tie on her wrist.
She turned towards me and when her eyes landed on me, a small smile spread on her face.
"What?" She asked. "Do I have something on my face?"
"No." I said quietly.
"Then what?" She laughed. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
I shrugged.
"Omi..." I breathed, taking a few steps towards her.
"Breena." She mocked, shooting me a smile. "What's up? Why are you acting all serious?"
I stared at her face, running a hand to the nape of my neck and as I went to say something, my door opened.
"Door stays open." My dad said before he walked away again, and Naomi laughed while I rolled my eyes, dropping onto my bed.
"He really doesn't want anything to happen in here, huh?" Naomi asked.
"He's a fucking menace."
She laughed again as she crawled onto the bed next to me and pushed some hair out of my face.
"You look really pretty today." She whispered. "Have I told you that?"
"You look really pretty too." I smiled, leaning my head up to kiss her quickly.
Naomi then laid down next to me and got comfortable, closing her eyes with a heavy breath leaving her mouth.
I turned my head to look at her. Her lips were parted slightly, her expression soft. Her eyelashes laid perfectly against her cheekbones.
She looked perfect.
She was perfect.
"Are you tired?" I asked, running my finger down her jaw which caused her to break into a smile.
"A little." She whispered. "I'm not used to eating this late."
"No?" I asked. "When do you usually eat? When we're not at Hogwarts of course."
"My grandmother cooks at five in the afternoon and thirty minutes later, we're eating."
I snuggled up to Naomi's shoulder and she wrapped an arm around me while I intertwined my legs with hers.

"George, what are you doing?" I hissed at him as I followed him up the stairs. "Leave them be you twat. I'm sure Sabrina wouldn't want her father to show up and check on them every ten minutes!"
"Knowing our daughter, she has probably closed that door already."
"And so what?" I laughed. "Let the girls be teenagers. They're in love. Remember when that was us?"
George looked at me as I caught up with him.
"Sabrina says they aren't together."
"And maybe they aren't, but you saw the way they acted around each other, the way they looked at each other. Our little girl is in love." I said and as we reached Sabrina's room, the door was still open.
Though both girls laid on the bed, cuddling, both of them asleep.
"They are sharing a bed!" George whispered to me. "I'm going to—"
"George." I interrupted him. "Close the door. We're going downstairs, I'll finish my glass of wine and you can tell me all about your day."
I walked down the hallway and a moment passed before I heard George close the door to Sabrina's bedroom.
Once I got downstairs, I grabbed my wine in the kitchen and sat down by the island, taking a sip.
"She's not supposed to be growing up!" George said once he entered the kitchen as well. "She's just eighteen. She's—"
"Babe." I laughed. "Didn't we start dating when we were sixteen?"
"Yes, but—"
"Bree is a young adult, whether you like it or not. She's allowed to be dating, to get herself a girlfriend."
"No she isn't." George scoffed. "Sabrina is naive and I'm scared that she's going to get hurt because she puts too much trust into one person."
I raised an eyebrow and took another sip of the wine.
"What're you talking about?"
"Hannah." He said. "Sabrina liked her and she was fooled by her. She always came into the shop just to hang out with Hannah and Hannah led her on while she was dating our nephew at the same time."
"You don't know what happened between Hannah and Sabrina." I said. "And even if Hannah did lead our daughter on, she should still be allowed to get into a relationship. You can't look at that and decide to keep her from living her life."
George didn't answer. He looked out of the windows while I took another sip of the wine, then he walked over and pulled out a chair to sit across from me.
"She's eighteen years old, George." I said. "And love is a beautiful thing. I'd be more than happy if she found that. Plus, Naomi is a wonderful girl with a dark past. I think they could benefit from each other."
