The next morning, when I woke up, I felt exhausted — the tots opposite of fully rested.

I groaned as I rolled over on my stomach and reached for my phone on the nightstand.

9:06

I sighed.

Just five more minutes.

I let my head drop against the pillow again, closing my eyes.

"Who's Naomi?"

My eyes opened wide and I hurried to sit up, seeing Eli sit in my desk chair, scrolling through a magazine that usually sat on my desk.

"What are you doing in my room?"

He looked at me and smiled as he closed the magazine, sliding it back on the desk.

He stood up and walked along my bed before picking up my phone.

"You've got a text from Naomi." He said. "Who's Naomi?"

Naomi had given me her phone number before we left the train in London.

"Give me my phone!"

"No." He laughed, stepping back. "Tell me who Naomi is. Is she a girlfriend of yours?"

I sighed.

"Please just give me my phone. I don't have a girlfriend."

"Well, the only friends of yours that I'm familiar with are Adriana and Theo."

I rolled my eyes and sat down.

"Theo isn't my friend." I said. "He's not even my cousin anymore."

Eli frowned and looked at me for a moment before he handed me my phone back, then sat down on the edge of the bed.

"You okay? Theo's our cousin... that doesn't change even if the two of you had some kind of argument... or fight?"

"We didn't have a fight! He—"

I sighed.

I didn't want to walk around telling people that Theo had been hitting Adriana.

Adriana didn't want that. If she wanted more people to know, she'd do it herself.

"He what?"

I shook my head.

"Nothing. Can you leave? What are you even doing in here?"

"I was waiting for you to wake up." He shrugged. "I need you to hide some weed for me."

I stared at Eli before shaking my head.

"No. That was a one-time thing. I'm not hiding anything for you again."

"C'mon Bree. It's just one bag." He said. "Mia is going through the entire flat to look for it. She doesn't want me smoking it."

"Well maybe you should listen to her." I said. "Mia tends to be the most sensible out of the four of us."

"So? I like getting high from time to time and I'm twenty— I'm free to do it." He said. "Please just hide it for me for a week or two?"

I sighed.

"Fine... but I want to try it."

Eli let out a laugh and shook his head as he stood up.

"No way. You are not getting into this shit."

"Why? You can smoke weed but I can't?"

"You're eighteen, Sabrina... plus, you're my little sister and I am not gonna get you into weed." He said. "Or any other kind. You know what happened to Alec."
