I sat through Muggle Studies, more bored than I had ever been.
All I could think about was lunch and how I was completely going to show Naomi how much of a top I could be. The girl somehow convinced me to be on the receiving end and it certainly did something to my ego.
Hannah and Adriana being in this class didn't help either. I was constantly staring at Hannah who sat a few rows in front of me, running her hand through her hair and chuckling with the person she sat next to.
Then there was Adriana.
I so wanted to be friends again but she kept acting so hostile towards me.
I had Care of Magical Creatures after this, and luckily neither one of them was in that class. Though Theo was and that was a plus. He was my favourite cousin and one of my friends. We got along and he wasn't mad at me over anything.
When class was over, I scattered out of there quicker than ever and made my way down to meet Theo in front of Hagrid's hut.
He was there, early as expected and with excitement. When he noticed me walk towards him quickly, he stood up from the rock he sat on and I attacked him with a large hug, causing him to freeze.
"I don't do hugs, Breena." he breathed. "You know that."
With a chuckle, I pulled out of the hug and as he sat down, I joined him.
"Sorry. I'm just excited to spend an entire hour with someone who's not mad at me or hates me."
"Adriana doesn't hate you."
I shrugged.
"I talked to her this morning... you know after you left when you two fought."
Theo paused for a moment, then turned his head to look at me, and it wasn't until now that I realised he was eating a sandwich.
Lunch is in an hour.
"Did she say anything?" he asked me and took a bite of his sandwich.
I shook my head.
"When I said I talked to her, I mean I tried to ask why you were fighting and she snapped at me." I said. "She's still mad at me and all I did was try and make her tell someone because her dad keeps hitting her."
My eyes widened as soon as the words left my mouth.
No...
"Oh shit, I was not meant to say that!" I hurried to say. "Please just ignore I said that."
"What?" he questioned with a frown. "Her dad's hitting her? I mean... I knew he did it that one time but..."
He looked into the distance and then stood up, grabbing his bag.
"Theo, where're you going? Class starts soon."
"I'm skipping." he said. "Adri's got a free lesson."
I looked at him as he packed up his sandwich before throwing his bag over his shoulder.
"I'll come with–"
"No!" he suddenly snapped at me. "Sorry... I mean... you shouldn't. It's fine. I'll go talk to her, make sure she's alright and stuff... just... I don't know, enjoy class?"
It sounded almost like a question and I frowned, watching him walk back up towards the castle while scratching the back of his head.
What was that all about?
I sighed.
Why did I just...
Adriana is going to kill me. This is exactly what she didn't want. Him to know. I didn't know why, but he was the last person she wanted help from and I just told him.
