You know, I'm kinda happy that my exam was cancelled.

But that's my anxiety talking.

Though, the part of me which wants the best grades so I don't have to let my mother down, wishes I could get an extra chance to get my grade up instead of being grated on my performance through the year.

Alec opened the door when the doorbell rang.

Nora and Raine ran straight inside, shouting for mum, or auntie as they knew her.

"Hi Alec." Marco hugged his nephew while I watched from the doorway between the foyer and the reception room.

Uncle William was behind Marco, looking uneasy — nervous.

My plan had worked.

"Uncle Will—" Alec looked confused.

"I received a last minute letter from your mother." William went to hug him as well. "Hopefully we can finally put this family feud to a rest."

"Can I play a game on your phone?"

I looked down to see Rosie stand in front of me, holding out her hand towards the phone I was holding in my hand.

I handed it to her without saying anything and she ran straight into the reception room, getting comfortable on the sofa.

"Hi Bree— Elias!" Uncle Will called out and his twelve-year-old son stopped by the stairs while something shattered in the kitchen.

Oh shit... mum heard him.

"Take your shoes off." Uncle William told Elias who groaned but did what he was told.

"What was that?" Uncle Marco asked, looking towards the kitchen while bringing me in for a hug. "I think your mum needs some help in the kitchen."

"She probably does." I grinned, but at the same time, mum came matching into the foyer, shooting one glance towards her brother before looking Uncle Marco.

"What's this? What is he doing in my house?"

"Allie—"

"Shut up!" Mum let out a laugh, holding up a hand towards Uncle William.

"What do you mean; what is he doing in my house... you invited him."

"I did no such thing!"

Uncle William laughed out of spite and I raised my eyebrows at how similar he and mum was.
Especially their laugh. I'd never noticed it before.

He dug into his pocket before handing the letter I had written, to mum.

Mum read it through before she tilted her head up, closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

She's angry.

"Sabrina... Magdalena... Silverberry... Weasley."

Shit.

"It wasn't me!" I hurried to say. At this point, we were only five people in the foyer.

Uncle William, Uncle, Marco, Alec, mum and then me.

Everyone looked at me.

"It was Theo!" I hurried to say, completely throwing my own cousin under the bus. "He told me he'd kill my hamster if I didn't write the letter!"

No, why did you say that you dumbass?

"Your hamster died when you were seven." Alec spoke.
