"Draco as in blonde hair, pale skin and an annoying git?"

Searching the entire train, I found no free c0mpartment and no compartment with harry. But that's alright, I'm sure he made it on... right? I'll search again later.

Finally settling for a compartment with two girls, I slid open the glass door and peeked inside. The first girl had chocolate brown skin, brown eyes, and shoulder length pin straight hair. The second girl had fair skin and her face was splattered in freckles. She had amber eyes and hazel hair.

"Excuse me, do you mind if I sit here? Everywhere else is full..."

"No, we don't mind." The girl with hazel hair smiled at me. She seemed to be nice. "My name is Leah, Leah Moonshine."

The other girl then scooted over, making some free space. "And I'm Samantha, Samantha Myers. Yet everyone just calls me Sam." She waved her hair off her shoulders and sent me a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you!"

Oh how much I wish to be sitting alone right now, but I mustn't dwell. I forced a smile onto my face in order to seem grateful. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well," I replied. "My name is Ava Potter."

I hated telling people my name; everyone's reaction was always the same. Oh what a pleasure to meet the Ava Potter! Or What an honor it is to meet one of the chosen ones! Or, my all time favorite, Oh where's your brother? I've always wanted to meet him! Like hell if I know!

Yet to my suprise, they didn't ask any questions. "That's a pretty name," Leah commented and I visibly relaxed.

Sam chuckled. "You seem quite relieved," she said as I sat beside her. I'd given my luggage, including Mavis, to the bag collector who stands at the enterance of the train.

"Yeah," I glanced down at the floor and scratched the back of my neck. "Most people start gawking," I paused for a moment thinking of what to say. "Are you guys first years as well?"

Both girls nodded. "What house do you reckon you'll get?" Leah asked Sam and I. "My family has been in Slytherin for as long as I can remember — since we're purebloods," she spoke with a slight puff in her chest.

I silently cringed, praying to Merlin she wasn't another pureblood freak. "I guess I'm hoping for Gryffindor since both my parents were."

"Well my parents are muggles," said Sam. "But I did a bit of research on the houses and predict I'll be in either Slytherin or Ravenclaw.

I laughed finding it funny how I've yet to meet anyone who wants to be in Hufflepuff. "I met a boy who hates Hufflepuffs the other day. Are they really that horrid?" I new nothing of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

Leah raised her brows. "Did you by any chance catch the boys name?"

"Er — pretty sure it was Draco."

The moment I said his name, Leah broke down laughing. "Draco as in blonde hair, pale skin and an annoying git?" She retorted, snorting, causing me to laugh as well. A genuine laugh. I truly enjoy these girls... maybe we'll end up being good friends. Sam sat there in silence, utterly confused.

"That sounds about right," I said once my breath was caught.

"Yeah, that's Draco Malfoy for you. He believes in pureblood supremacy, along with his horrid parent."

I made a mental note on how Leah wasn't like other purebloods. I wonder if Harry is having as much luck as me — "Oh Merlin, I forgot about Harry!" I jumped up from my seat and went to exit our compartment. "Er — you girls don't mind if I go find my brother, do you?"

"No, of course not! We'll find you as we exit the train," Sam said waving me off.

I waved my newfound friends goodbye and set off to find my brother.

"Sunshine —,"

"Ava!" I slid open a compartment door and saw Harry sitting beside a red headed boy who was casting magic on his... rat? Odd. I smiled up at my brother and threw my arms around him.

"Hello dear brother," I said taking a seat across from him. "Care to introduce me to your friend?" I gestured towards the scraggly redhead who stared at me as if his world just paused.

So he's a gawker? Lovely. "I-I'm Ron Weasley," the boy introduced himself. "Sorry that I was staring," he said with his face turning bright red. "It's just unheard of to meet two famous people in one day, you know?"

I faked a smile and chuckled. "It's fine," I lied. "Happens all the time."

The three of us chatted for a good while and Ron attempted a spell on his rat which backfired horribly. A stuck up, pointy nosed girl named Hermione had interrupted us at some point asking about a toad that a boy named Neville lost. Of course she ended up recognizing both Harry and I and began gawking as well.

"I expect we'll be arriving soon," the girl said as she exited our compartment. "You should go change into your robes."

I faced my head towards the window, and indeed, in the distance was a castle lid up in the night. I felt myself grow giddy as I stared. We were almost there! Almost at Hogwarts!

I excused myself in order to change my robes. On my way back from changing, I met up with Leah who was standing quietly right outside her compartment, already in her uniform. "Ava, there you are!" She said with a huge smile. "Aren't you excited? I know I am!"

I nodded. "Yeah, you have no idea. Where's Sam?"

"Ohhh, she's right behind you —,"

"BOO!"

I jumped, turned around and slapped the person behind me.

"Oh! Merlin, I'm so sorry," I laughed after accidentally slapping Sam across the face.

She rubbed her check and her brown eyes playfully glared at me. "It's alright," she shrugged. "I deserved it." The three of us laughed. "Now we should get going! People are already exiting the train."

The three of us headed down the halls of Hogwarts Express, giddy and excited. This was great; amazing, actually! Nothing can go wrong it's perfect! Or so I thought...
