"We're friends, and we fight each other's battles."

Hagrid quickly led us from the forest and back towards Hogwarts. He decided that after what happened, it would be safer for us all to return.

Leah, Draco, and I all headed back to our common room, and the moment we stepped through the door, she dragged us to the couches and began throwing questions.

"Merlin, you guys. What the bloody hell happened?" She asked in a panicked manner. Leah was known to be the anxious one of our group. I began pacing back and forth while subconsciously biting my fingernails as I tried to recall tonight's events.

It took me a few minutes, but I successfully explained the story to her, with all the details.

"... And the centar, Firenze, said that the creature in the cloak was Voldemort..."

Leah gasped, covering her mouth with both hands while Draco sat on the couch in silence, inspecting our conversation. "You mean to tell me that the ring Draco chucked into the snow had You-know-who living inside of it? And that he's alive, roaming the Forbidden Forest as we speak, surviving off of Unicorn blood?"

I sighed, roaming my hands through my hair in an attempt to stop my heart from racing. "I don't know what is wrong with that ring, but all I know is that it's evil and whoever owns it is either; a danger, or in danger... and yes. Voldemort is living off of Unicorn blood and freely roaming the forest."

"You're lucky he didn't try to kill you," she said.

"Oh no, he did," Draco said. "He just didn't succeed..."

"He would have succeeded if that centar — what was his name? Ah yes, Frenze. If he didn't show up, we'd be dead." I let out a shaky breath. "But it doesn't matter, as long as Dumbledore's here, we're safe. He's the only wizard that Voldemort was ever afraid of." I was trying to convince myself that we were all safe, but deep down I knew that we weren't...

Leah nodded but she seemed uneasy. "Just know that I've always got your back. We may not be blood related, but you're still my family... and you and Draco need to learn how to get along! The three of us, including Blaise, are with you till the end. We're friends, and we fight each other's battles. Got it?"

I looked towards Draco who sent me a small smile and a nod. I knew we weren't good friends, but when push came to shove, we'd always have each other's back... if that counts for something.

During lunch the next day, Harry pulled Leah and I to the side and explained what had happened while he was at Hagrids hut. He explained that protecting the stones were a few spells and curses created by the Professor, and one of the Professors guarding the stone is Snape.

"You see?" I said with a smile. "Why would Snape want to steal something he's trying to protect?"

Harry glared at me. "I thought about that as well, until I learned that Quirrell is also guarding the stone."

"Oh."

"He probably wants to figure out what the other Professor's obstacles are!" Leah said.

Since it was a Tuesday, I had to attend Quidditch practice. Truly, I'm fully regretting joining the team. Quidditch isn't my thing.
