"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live,"

Christmas Day came and went, and it was already time to return to Hogwarts. Selina woke me up bright and early on this fine Sunday morning, screaming at me that I'd overslept.

Yeah, that wasn't fun. After rushing to get dressed and packed, Mister Rose apparated the three of us to Platform 9 ¾, and left soon after saying he had a 'business meeting' to attend.

"We have to hurry! The train leaves in less than a minute!" Selina grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the train as Draco chuckled and tailed us.

I boarded the train, and soon separated from Selina who joined a compartment with Fred and George. Draco and I kept walking until we'd found Leah and Blaise.

"Hey guys," I said, causing Leah to turn her head. Blaise smirked and Leah groaned, putting her hand in her pocket and sulkily handing him a glistening galleon.

I rolled my eyes. "Did you guys really bet on me?"

"Why yes, yes we did. And I won, so you should be thankful!" Blaise said, his voice full of triumph.

"Hey mate," Draco said, pushing past me and taking a seat beside his best friend. "Don't mind me, by the way. You can keep ignoring me."

I stifled a laugh. It was true — they hadn't even noticed Draco silently standing beside me.

Taking a seat across from Draco, I told them everything that'd happened over Christmas. From the visions and seeing that — that other part of me, to sending Harry a letter. Leah seemed quite nervous, but I shrugged her off. After all, these were my issues and not hers. I don't want any of my friends to be in danger because of me... I'd do anything to keep them safe, especially Leah.

"Just — please don't hide anything from us, alright?" Leah pleaded. "We're your friends and will be there for you no matter what. Right guys?"

Blaise vigorously nodded while Draco shrugged. "You're alright, I guess. We don't necessarily want you to get yourself killed..."

Leah and I chuckled. "I'll try not to."

The moment we stepped off Hogwarts Express, we bumped into Harry and his friends. "Ava, I was just looking for you!" He said, pleasantly surprised. "The three of us found something interesting — you can bring Leah as well."

I turned to Leah and smiled while Blaise and Draco sulked. "Want to join us on this top secret mission the boys can't know about?" I asked, wiggling my eyes and smirking.

She nodded her head. "Would I? Oh, yes indeed!"

I grabbed Leah's arm and quickly followed Ron, Harry, and Hermione who'd already run off. From behind us, I vaguely heard Draco mutter something that sounded like 'Pathetic Potter.'

Merlin, Draco acts like such a baby at times — I mean, we're only eleven, but still... Harry led the five of us towards the entrance of an old, unused classroom.

"Okay," he started, "The day I lettered you, I was snooping around the Library for information on Nicolas Flamel, when I was almost caught by Filch. I ran out of the Library while wearing the invisibility cloak and found Snape pushing Quirrell against a wall, mumbling something about 'where his loyalties lie.'"
