"You can treat the mud blood however you want, but don't you ever target one of our own."

Ava's POV
The cold winter air swept past my face as Sam, Leah and I made our way towards the Quidditch pitch. Today was the Gryffindor Vs Hufflepuff match, so as we trotted through the snow pathway, we gossiped about who we wanted to win.

Of course I wanted Gryffindor to win, but it would be quite funny to see Harry lose the snitch... Sam agreed with me while Leah cheered for Hufflepuff. She had a few friends in Hufflepuff, so she decided to support them.

"Want to come sit with me in the Hufflepuff section?" Leah asked. "I'm sure Hannah and Justin wouldn't mind."

I waved her off with a slight smile. "Don't worry about it, I'm sitting with Hermione today. She wants to make sure Harry is safe."

Leah nodded and waved goodbye as we parted pathways. Sam and I climbed up the stairs leading to the Gryffindor section and sat ourselves beside Hermione and Ron, who I wasn't a fan of.

A gust of wind drifted by causing my flowy red hair to fly into my face. Sam and Hermione chuckled while Ron kept his gaze focused on the blonde boy at the opposite side of the pitch.

I soon noticed that the both of them — not so discreetly, had slipped their wands up their sleeves. "Why do you have your wands hidden?" I asked.

Hermione's face turned a slight crimson. I guess she doesn't like breaking the rules much. "Oh! Er — just for precaution, you know... what if Snape tried to harm Harry like last time?"

I blinked. This girl isn't serious... is she?

"Even if Snape was evil, there is no way he's gonna murder Harry," Sam stated, stifling a laugh.

Hermione rolled her eyes and flicked the hair off of her shoulders. Ron turned towards us and furrowed his brows. "You guys are friends of Malfoy, correct?" He asked in an accusatory tone.

"Oh please, I'm muggle born. You really think he'd be friends with a Ravenclaw who also has dirty blood?"

Ron didn't say anything, rather he stared silently and at the sassy Ravenclaw. He turned his accusatory glare my way. "Well — You're friends with the enemy, Ava!"

I stared at him, unblinking.

"Ron, please calm down —"

Ron cut Hermione off. "No, Hermione! We're only in first year and she's already getting involved with the wrong crowd... It's embarrassing. The fact she has a muggle born agreeing with her makes it even worse."

I could see smoke flowing from Sam's ears. "Embarrassing?" She questioned, her voice rather high pitched. "You know what's embarrassing — standing here with a Gryffindor who doesn't even like me, while we could be having fun. Ava has sacrificed so much time hanging out with you, while trying to also please her fellow Slytherins. You know how hard that is?!"

We didn't even recognize that the game had commenced.

Draco's POV

Weasley had been glaring at me the whole time I'd been there. I sent him a chilling smirk while Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle all chatted amongst themselves.

Glancing around Weasley, I noticed that Female Potter and her mud blood friend were in a conversation with Granger. I scoffed. How could she associate herself with such abominations?

Suddenly, Weasley jerked his head to the side and glared at Ava. They seemed to be arguing about something. Who did he think he was? Even though Ava is a half-blood, she's still higher than a blood traitor. No one could pick on a Slytherin and get away with it... we defend each other.

I turned around and signaled to Crabbe, Goyle and Blaise and smirked. "Boys, looks like Ava's got herself into a mess... care to join in?" I nodded towards the Gryffindor stands and they eagerly followed.

Reaching the stands, I patted my slicked back hair making sure it was still in place. I tiptoed behind Weasley and winked at Ava, who just noticed me, yet didn't acknowledge me. Smart girl...

"They're Death Eaters Ava, don't you get it? Malfoy's father was — ouch!" Weasley squealed in pain as he fell over, banging his elbow on one of the many seats.

"Oh, sorry Weasley, didn't see you there." I grinned at Crabbe and Goyle who were situated on either side of me.

Blaise, who was now standing beside Sam rather protectively smirked. "You better watch who you're messing with next time," he sneered. Wow, I've never seen Blaise this pissed before.

"You've picked a fight with the wrong group," Ava added as she took a daring step towards Weasley. He cowarded back, walking straight into Crabbe who shoved him back into the ground.

Ava stood there wide-eyed, but I could tell that she was hiding a smirk.

The mudblood was too focused on the Quidditch game to notice what was going on behind her. I used this to my advantage. "You see Weasley," I mocked. "You can treat the mud blood however you want, but don't you ever target one of our own. You can't do much without the mud blood Granger, no can you?"

Sam and Ava chuckled, causing my smirk to grow. "Guys!" Granger suddenly screeched. "Harry!"

"What? Where?" Ava asked, turning her attention towards the game.

Ava's POV

Harry had suddenly gone into a full dive, which drew gasps and cheers from the crowd. I threw my hands over my mouth, ignoring the scene that was unfolding behind me. I have to be honest, Weasley deserved what happened; and what most likely will happen.

I was quite happy that the boys came to my aid, and I hate to admit this — but especially Draco. Our friend group may be a bit flawed, but one thing is for sure, we defend each other. No matter who's in trouble, and I could tell that this is how it would be for the rest of the years to come... not that I was complaining.

"You're in luck, Weasley, Potters obviously spotted some money on the ground!" Said Malfoy.

I slightly chuckled, but still had my eyes on Harry who had begun reaching for the snitch.

"Come on Harry!" Hermione screamed, as she jumped onto her seat to get a better view of the game. The snitch was right in front of Harry — if he was just able to reach... just a little more, then he could —

"Yes!" Hermione cheered loudly, as the whole of Gryffindor screamed and cheered with her. Harry had caught the snitch, leaving Gryffindor in the lead.

Now to go find Leah...
