"Don't you take another step! We're still playing,"
Ava's POV
The five of us had entered the next room, and to my surprise it was filled with flying keys."What type of birds are these?" Ron asked in awe and I scoffed.
"They're not birds, Ron, they're keys!" I said. These people could be really dumb.
"Oh..."
"It looks like one of them unlocks that door ahead of us," Hermione said as she pointed to another ancient wood door. Leah pulled out her wand and approached the dust-covered doorknob.
"Alohomora," she said but the door didn't budge. She shrugged. "It was worth a shot." I giggled. She then started inspecting the keyhole. "It looks like we need a small old fashioned key..."
"Like that one!" Hermione said as she pointed to one of the keys that was flying around. The one she pointed to had a broken wing and looked old. It looked as if it was already used. Harry slowly started approaching the broom in the middle of the room and looked up suspiciously.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"This seems..." He started but paused. "Too easy..."
I glanced up. It did seem a bit simple, just hop on a broom and grab a key...
"Oh come on Harry, you're the best seeker there is!" Ron said enthusiastically and I scoffed. Leah did as well.
"Correction, Ava is the best seeker," Leah fixed and I nodded sarcastically even though I didn't like it.
Hermione rolled her eyes. "It doesn't matter who's better, just someone grab the key!" Harry nodded and mounted the broom, but when he did all the keys started to swarm and attack him.
Harry quickly started flying through the swarm, trying to grab the broken key. After what felt like an eternity, he snatched the key from the air and threw it to me. I caught the key and ran towards the other door, shoving the key into the dusty keyhole. The door swung open and I ran through the door, followed by Ron, Hermione, Leah, and finally Harry who went flying through on the broom. I shut the door just in time to hear all the keys crashing into the frame.
Draco's POV
It was now one in the morning and they still hadn't returned. I didn't know why I was so worried about her... Blaise had stayed up with me for company, and he was also a bit nervous, especially for Leah.
"They're still not back!" I groaned and paced back and forth in the common room. My mind was swarming with everything that could've possibly gone wrong.
Blaise sighed. "Mate, I'm sure they're fine, especially Ava. She's strong." I didn't listen to what Blaise had said, instead I kept pacing while he went on about how the girls didn't need us.
Ava's POV
The next room looked like a chess board. There was a gigantic board with shattered chess pieces everywhere, almost making it look like a cemetery. This place made me feel extremely uneasy and by the looks on everyone else's faces, they felt the same way.
"What is this place?" Leah whispered.
"It's a chess board," Ron replied.
