"Have anything you'd like to share with the class?"

The next few weeks were uneventful, other than Hermione's constant blabbering about the Chamber of Secrets. She always craved knowledge, and it was clear that she wouldn't stop until she knew everything. No more messages or petrifications had happened so I was beginning to think it was just a seventh year pulling a prank.

It was now the day before Halloween and everyone was excited. Leah's parents had sent her a Halloween costume via owl and she was trying it on. "So Ava, what do you think?" She twirled her dress in the mirror, checking herself out. She wore a beautiful, tight golden dress with a gorgeous pearl necklace and matching earrings.

I helped tie her hair into a bun then placed on a golden tiara. "I'm supposed to be the muggle princess, Belle!"

I smiled at my best friend. The outfit did look beautiful on her, yet she could make anything look good. She was a surprisingly pretty girl. "I think it looks lovely," I said. "Though it's not something I'd wear on Halloween, because, well... it's not remotely scary,"

Leah chuckled. "You don't have to look scary on Halloween, just dress up!"

"I disagree, that's the whole point! You know, zombies, werewolves and all." I always loved dressing up for Halloween. This year however, and last year as well, I couldn't dress up. Nowhere offered costumes and the Dursley's always sent me sweet Fanny Adams.

"Pfft, you're just jealous," she laughed.

"I'm not!" I raised my hands defensively. "It's called having fun."

Supper quickly came around and we all entered the Great Hall. Students were allowed to go home for the Holiday weekend, so we were celebrating a day early.

Many students were dressed up, including Sam, Blaise, and Selina. Draco was being his usual bipolar self and never smiled. He sat in the corner as usual with his arms crossed and a scowl plastered on his face.

"Mate, have some fun!" Blaise said while he shoved mashed potatoes into his mouth. "It's Halloween and the purrfect day to chill!"

Leah and I scoffed. Blaise had dressed up as a black cat and had been making ridiculous cat puns all day. "Please," Draco muttered. "This holiday is pathetic."

"Sounds like someone's jealous," Blaise joked. "Probably because mummy didn't buy him a costume."

"Hey!" Leah said while she laughed. "That's exactly what I told Ava before dinner!"

I rolled my eyes. "I love Halloween! I just don't quite get why you dressed up as a princess..."

"A princess?" Blaise and Draco asked in unison.

"It's a muggle fairytale. She dressed up as Belle."

"I agree with Ava," Draco said. "Dressing up as a muggle princess is pathetic. You're acting like a blood traitor..."

I slapped Draco's arm. "What's got you in such a pissy mood!" I groaned. "You're normally rude, but not to us."

He stayed silent and just rolled his eyes.

After a few more minutes of conversation, Leah and I decided to say hello to our other friends. "Have fun girls! Make sure not to curl your whiskers too much..."

Leah and I rolled our eyes. "What does that even mean?" I asked her while we walked over to my brother.

She shrugged. "No clue. Probably some weird inside joke he has with Draco..."
