"Do you think he's coming back?"
Boarding Hogwarts Express for the second time wasn't nearly as exciting as the first. This time around I was annoyed, for I never wanted to leave Hogwarts to begin with. My anxiety peaked ever higher as Selina dragged me into a compartment; along with Fred and George. She seemed anxious, but refused to explain until we were alone.
"What do you want?" I asked, tapping my foot. I was growing more suspicious about this being a prank since Fred and George were here. "My friends will want me back."
Selina glanced over at Fred and George who sat across from us and sighed.
"Alright, spit it out," I urged. I was about to burst from my nerves. The twins seemed to be quite nervous as well, yet still intrigued.
"Well, you know how you're supposed to only come back for Christmas?"
I nodded. I was supposed to visit them for Christmas then spend the summers with Harry.
"Well," Selina continued, "Things changed. At least from what I was told. Now, you'll stay there for the summer as well; which I found odd. My uncle doesn't really fancy taking care of you—no offense."
She's got one thing right... "None taken, we all know it's true."
"Anyways, my parent are going away for work, so I'll be staying for the summer as well." She paused for a moment, seemingly hesitant to continue. "They wouldn't tell me where, so I decided to do some digging... and ended up finding information I wasn't supposed to know."
Her nervous demeanor quickly turned into one of rage, yet she quickly collected herself with a few deep breaths. Fred furrowed his brows while George leaned his head against the window. "Well?" Said Fred. "What'd you learn?"
She pursed her lips. "I did some research and found out that the Rose family has ties to You-Know-Who. They were part of his inner circle when he still held power. Along with the Malfoy's—but we all knew that."
Fred and George seemed to understand and all gasped. I merely blinked; confused. I knew Voldemort killed my parents, but nothing more. "What do you mean?" I asked.
"They're Death Eaters, Ava," she said. Her voice quivered and she laid her head on her hands. "They worked for Voldemort—and still do. I don't know how they got away with it... the evidence is substantial!"
"Oh," I said. "Well that's not good—you know, since he wants me dead."
George held back a laugh at my comment but Fred wasn't paying attention.
"And what about your parents?" He asked. "They as well? Or just your aunt and uncle?"
I stayed quiet.
"They as well. I found proof of it. My aunt had allegedly died of a unidentifiable illness, but I've reason to believe there's more to it..."
"Do you think they're planning something?" The twins asked in unison. "Should we tell someone?"
"No, we shouldn't. I don't know how anyone will react."
I was barely paying attention anymore, to caught up in my own thoughts. If I was going to live at a Death Eaters home—people who worked for Voldemort, how would I be safe? They know everything about me! Even if he is dead—he may not be!
