Ichiro had taken delight in watching the (h/c) haired girl getting along with his pets. They warmed up to her quite quickly, sniffing at her and assessing her movements with interest. The fact that the blunenette kept attempting to touch her signified his attachment to her. As such, they wanted to see if her presence was really so calming. Many of them agreed with their master's assessment of her.

The day was well spent. The bluenette stitched together his designs with the inspiration the younger girl's aura provided him, his cheeks a bright pink. (Y/n) also found comfort in reading, relaxing on the male's lap. It was surprisingly comfortable. She had merely attempted to see what could suffice for a pillow, but from the moment she tried the action, the older male might as well have been holding her down. While she tried to move her head at the realization it would have looked odd to any servants entering the room, he blushed brightly and firmly encouraged her to resume using him as a pillow.

After that, he had a lively disposition about him, his smile refusing to fade. The fact that he could have her to himself for once was a nice change of pace. Normally, his brothers would have intruded, but they were cock-blocking the other in some sort of meeting. Perhaps they were teaming up to get him out of the picture. It didn't bother him. He was finally seen as a threat by the two of them. At least he had done something to rise above them in his lifetime.

The bluenette pet the younger girl's head to thank her for the opportunity to spend his day with her. His eyes lingered on the color of her eyes, wondering how he could incorporate such a beautiful hue into the dress he was working on. He wanted to make one that reminded him of her and that would suit her perfectly. However, it seemed redundant to put something on what it was inspired from. Certainly, it was a challenge, but he, by no means, was going to give up. In fact, he wanted to see it more based on the difficulty it posed.

"You know, dove, I have a question to ask. If you were able to live with the person you love with all of your heart, would you, even if you were never able to have luxury?"

"I'll never understand why you all keep asking me that. I wasn't born into the life you have had since birth. I'm not concerned with luxury, just happiness."

"I didn't so much ask for your sake...as I did for mine."

Ichiro narrowed his eyes, not knowing what exactly he wanted in life. His priorities confused him and he didn't know what he would have leaped at if given the chance. With Rei's proposal for him, he wasn't certain of what he wanted. Would he have been happier with millions of loyal subjects and access to everything he had ever wanted or with the person he loved more than Kazuki? He never thought he would have had either option in his pitiful lifetime.

"Did something happen?" the younger girl asked, concern in her lovely voice.

"Well, yeah, but...I'm not sure what will happen. I feel like I'm doomed no matter what I choose. One thing will crash down and the other may not last."

Again becoming quiet, the male sighing, petting the (h/c) haired girl's hair to calm his worries. It was oddly effective, but it only made his decision more difficult. They said you couldn't buy that kind of happiness, but was that really true? Ichiro had always seen Rei filled with contentment in life. He had everything he ever wanted, always smiling. Of course, the bluenette had no idea of the blonde's mask. He took painstaking measures to hide it, after all.

That being said, the older male wanted what the blonde had more than anything else...or so he believed. Riches, luxury, respect, admiration, even utter devotion. It just wasn't (Y/n). Everyone else in the world would watch his moves with the utmost of reverence, but he wouldn't have the one person he wanted. It was one or the other, no win-win situation. In fact, it seemed more of the fact that he would lose either way. In gaining something, he would lose something, and it plagued his mind.
