After Y/n left the group she stared at the screen blankly, a bit concerned. After all, who was this dude? How'd they even manage to add you to some random group chat? I should check. she thought quickly finding her way to the settings in her messenger app. "huh," she mumbled. As she'd remembered. Her privacy setting had set 'friends only' for her DMs.
Deciding to confide in the same person who dragged her into the genshin hole she called up her friend. Once the phone was picked up, a bored-sounding male voice sounded on the other side. "Lemme guess you pulled Baal or something and wanna flex on me?" they sounded a bit pouty but it was obvious that they were joking, even through the phone.
Though her friend's relaxed attitude helped her, she still replied in a serious voice. "Actually, I just wanted to ask you about something," she smirked slightly. Hopefully, Jackson would know some old people's advice. she hoped as she waited for him to reply.
After a few moments his voice picked up again "Well? Ask it," he joked, wanting to help cheer her up a bit. After all, it was fairly hard to get into a serious mood.
Y/n scoffed sarcastically, "I'm getting there dipshit," she muttered before continuing. "Anyways, some weirdo says there's a chance they may kidnap me online."
There was an awkward laugh on the other side, "Wow, that's some backlash. But anyways, I can stay with you at school and walk you to and from your place," he offered. "Though I doubt it's anything more than them just being an edgy prick, so be sure to block them" he added in a more assuring tone.
Y/n nodded slightly, feeling a bit safer with her friend helping her out. Though of course there was no way for Jackson to know. So she verbally answered, "Yeah, that's good. Thank you, Jack," she said gratefully.
"Yeah, no problem. If it gets really bad then we can just tell like your mom or dad or something," he added. in his mind, there was never anything wrong with telling a parent about possible dangers.
Y/n groaned "Let's avoid that, they're a bit too busy anyways..." she muttered, not too fond of the idea. As much as she loved her parents she was constantly pressured by both of them to be perfect. Not only that but they were in the midst of a divorce, meaning that whenever she did something even slightly wrong, both of them would blame each other. Escalating to a full-out argument.
Soon Y/n had snapped out of her thoughts, hearing her friend check if she had ditched him or just fell asleep or something. "Y/n, you there?" Jackson asked a bit concerned.
"Oh sorry, spaced out there!" she replied quickly. "Anyways, wanna get on Genshin? Maybe I will get Baal. Then you'll really have something to be grumbly about," she joked quickly lightening the mood.
He only laughed as he replied with a doubtful, "Yeah, no your luck is shit." Y/n gasped dramatically at his comment. as her over-leveled friend joined her world. "Unlike me~" he added as the in-game Venti switched between Zhongli and Venti.
"Painnnn Man, I just want a Diluc, why's that so hard to go for?!" Y/n grumbled as she ran away from the now chasing 2nd player.
Jackson continued to laugh, "You free to play peasant whale already!" he joked around. "Anyways you got any world quests?"
"Yeah, some kid wants me to find their dad in Dragonspine. But damn he should find his own dad, fuck that place" she grumbled as the on-screen Zhongli ran circles around her.
"Want me to carry?" he offered
"PlEAse," she said purposely making her voice crack.
"Yeah, yeah. I did that quest a while ago, I can show you where everything is." he sighed as the two teleported to the statue of 7 in Dragonspine.
"Yooo GeoDaddy to the win??" she joked as she followed them around the map.
"Stop simping dammit,"
"Request denied~"
As the two played Y/n hadn't noticed she'd yet again been added back to the chat.
After a few hours of fucking around and getting hard carried through mainly Dragonspine quests Y/n bid her friend adieu. It was only then when she noticed the spam on her phone opening it once more. "What the hell?" she grumbled skimming briefly through the messages. Last time it took them like two days to notice I was gone. she thought as she stared at the screen.
"...Whatever..." she sighed deciding not to think too hard on the chat. As Jackson had advised she had also ended up blocking the 'X guy'.
"Y/n, come get some dinner," her mother shouted from the kitchen.
Y/n obliged the request. After all who doesn't like a nice home-cooked meal. "Coming!" she called quickly plugging her phone back in and running into the kitchen.
