Vengeance!

After bidding farewell to Lisa Kaeya took Y/n back out into the town to complete some patrols while waiting for some food from Good Hunter he ran into Aether, Childe, and Paimon. Paimon looked over and immediately noticed the familiar cat. "Wait a minute, Paimon recognizes that cat..." Paimon said in realization as she shook Aether's shoulder a little pointing over to Y/n who was being held by Kaeya with a highly displeased face.

Aether looked over to Kaeya and saw the cat, "Oh, hold on. Kaeya, where'd you get that cat from?" He asked, a bit curious if he'd found the cat that had slipped away from Childe.

Kaeya looked back and was quick to notice the Harbinger accompanying them. Immediately putting up the guard he gave Aether a friendly smile. "I saw this little kitty trying to go up some stairs," He answered eyeing Childe suspiciously. "By the way, who's your friend here?" He asked looking to Childe.

It was obvious Kaeya already knew who Tartaglia was, and Aether realized he didn't have a great explanation for why he was with them. "Well, it's a long story..." He mumbled trying to find a good way to say Childe was lowkey a prisoner of war and Y'n's 'wallet'.

Y/n stared Childe down for a moment before meowing, "Nosey fucking pirate," as she swatted up at his chin harmlessly. "Stop trying to interrogate my moneymaker," she hissed in annoyance. 

Kaeya looked down at the cat mildly annoyed until he saw the innocent eyes of the kitten staring back into his soul. He quickly gave up on the idea of scolding her, "I can listen," He looked back up to Aether, fully planning to use this as an excuse to both be lazy and see why Aether had brought such a dangerous man into town. 

Childe was just watching the cat in mild amusement. "Well, we can all catch up with a drink, tonight, alright?" He suggested with an amiable smile as he tried to figure out how to finagle Y/n back.

Kaeya thought about the suggestion, wondering if he could trust the man to go unsupervised. Aether finally found a decent phrasing and spoke up, "Childe is Y/n's battle buddy. Don't worry if he tries anything I'm sure she'd be able to at least stop any major damage!" he explained, putting most of the blame on Y/n. 

To be entirely honest, with how Y/n acted Kaeya wasn't surprised she'd hit it off with a Harbinger known to be blood-thirsty. Y/n however looked appalled as she glared at Aether. "Friends?!" She hissed at him wriggling out of Kaeya's grip and hopping out of his arms to jump at Aether. "When was I friends with that dickhead?" She meowed in annoyance as Aether quickly caught her.

"Y/n, be careful!" Kaeya quickly scolded the cat causing mild confusion in Aether and Paimon who gave each other curious glances. 

Paimon was the first to ask, "...Did you name the cat after Y/n?" She seemed hesitant to point it out. But the fact was obvious to everyone. 

Kaeya was quick to try and clear up any misunderstandings the group might have, "Oh, Lisa and Jean suggested it to me. I was originally gonna name her Fluffybutt." He explained earning another glare from Y/n who felt like she'd be fully willing to go to jail for this life, just to end his.

"Numbnuts." She growled scowling at the man. Eventually, the group finally got their food. Kaeya offered Y/n various foods in an attempt to get in the cat's good graces. After the second attempt, Y/n gave in, not wanting to waste perfectly good food. 

After their meal, Kaeya helped Aether complete some commissions and before long the sun had begun to set. Y/n stared up at the vibrant hues of the skies plotting the demise of Kaeya next. As the sky continued to darken Y/n slipped out of the arms that had held her as she quickly slipped away before any of the others could try and catch her. 

As she fled from the group she could vaguely hear Kaeya calling for her in a panic before the muffled sound had entirely become muted. Y/n didn't pause though, as she made her way to the front of Angel's Share. Staring at the door trying to think of the best way to get into the Tavern. Glancing towards the sky Y/n could guess that it was probably somewhere between 7 and 8 PM.
