Nearly a week and a half had passed since the two harbingers, and while Y/n did her best to try and keep track of their movements, she was also already incredibly busy with work, training, and trying to cover the basic human needs. Thankfully Goldet let her take off Fridays, letting her rest for the afternoon and evening before starting it all over again. Just before she was going to clock out for the 'weekend', Goldet quickly pulled her aside. "Hey, Y/n, could you deliver this package to the Jade chamber for me?" She asked with an apologetic smile. "If you do I'll double the pay for however long you take!" She added some monetary compensation to avoid too much annoyance from the woman.
Y/n sighed a bit annoyed before just accepting the request. "Fine, I guess I AM being paid to do it." She accepted begrudgingly. "Am I supposed to give it directly to Ningguang or should I give it to Keqing or something?" She asked, not wanting to just hand the package off to some random person.
"Oh, just give it to anyone working in the Jade chamber, they'll know what to do with it." She clarified before glancing at the clock. Seeing what time it was she quickly began to shoo Y/n off to get it done. "Anyways thanks for doing this!" She reiterated as she herded Y/n out of the Inn's front entrance, shoving the package into her hands she then waved the girl off hurriedly.
Y/n scoffed as she left the area. "Jeez, I'd think that Goldet would be more on top of things than this..." She muttered before remembering. "Wait, can't X- I mean Mr. cat boy just hand this off to Ganyu way quicker than me?" She mumbled a bit confused with Goldet's choice of help. I guess he's busy. She thought slightly shrugging to herself as she strolled along, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Eventually, Y/n arrived at the harbor two hours later. Walking over the bridge she decided to stop by one of the food stands to grab a quick lunch as she hadn't been able to before she was not-so-subtly shooed out of the Inn. Once she had a few kebabs she continued onwards. The town was as lively as ever. The main streets were fairly crowded as the people of Liyue went about their day. Every so often she'd hear some passing gossip about the happenings and rumors about the Harbingers. Other times she'd hear someone calling out advertisements for their shops.
She wasn't paying too much attention, simply enjoying the atmosphere as she made her way toward the Jade Chamber. Though, when she went to say the secret code, she noticed Keqing was chatting with one of the workers. Waiting until it looked like their conversation was over, Y/n went over calling. "Hey, Keqing, I got a package delivery from Wangshuu Inn!" She said in a friendly tone, still carrying the wrapped box in one arm and the waste from the kebabs in her other hand.
The woman looked over and greeted, "Oh, Y/n. You're here. Come with me, Ningguang wished to see you." She said curtly, taking the package from Y/n before leading her up to the floating chamber.
Y/n felt like she'd just been baited as she followed along getting a bit anxious about what exactly was going on. Once Keqing showed her to the office, she promptly took her to leave so she could deposit the package Y/n had dropped off. "So... You needed me?" Y/n asked, fully anticipating something bad.
Ningguang looked up as she entered the office, "Oh, you're here good." She said satisfied with the h/c-nette's presence. "I wanted to request something from you." She said promptly. Y/n gave a slight nod, willing to listen to whatever request the woman was about to give. "Could you please keep me updated on the Harbingers? More specifically, Scaramouche." She asked politely before adding, "Of course, if you do, I'd be more than willing to compensate you for your efforts." She said with a slight smile.
If it were anybody else, Y/n would've answered immediately. However, as it was Scaramouche specifically she hesitated more. On the one hand money, but on the other hand... Am I really about to snitch on someone I've not only befriended and bonded with but traumatized? She wondered a bit guiltily. In the end, as nice as the money sounded she sighed and said, "Sorry, I don't think I can help on this one." She said regretfully, prioritizing her loyalty over the monetary gain.
