The group ended up leaving the day after delivering the letter, Aether wanted to go ahead and try to get as many teleports points as he could before the Rite of Descension. Thanks to the guidance of Y/n Aether had been able to connect to all but the mountain teleport points. Returning to Liyue Harbor the day before the Ceremony. Aether and Paimon stayed at the Wangshu inn in the evening. Y/n on the other hand remained stubborn in staying out of the area.
Looking up into the dark abyss of night Y/n hummed a bit, "Avi God's dying tomorrow," She commented out to the blue looking back down to the anemo slime which had accompanied her. After all the inn refused to house monsters due to their unpredictable nature.
Avieer didn't seem taken aback by the girl's blunt statement, "Yes, things in Liyue will begin changing" He replied neutrally. Of course, the two of them were fully aware that the archon wasn't dying but stepping down. "Now that I think about it he's decided quite a dramatic exit," Avieer commented, remembering that the man was straight up dropping a dead dragon corpse onto the people to quit his job.
Y/n had to agree, "Yeah, but gods have to have fun too." She pointed out jokingly, more amused with Zhongli's plans of stepping down than her slime companion.
A comfortable silence set between the two as they continued strolling down the path. After another 30 minutes something new happened, a portal from the abyss opened up. A short blonde girl dressed in white came through with a haughty air to her as she stared at Y/n. "So, report to me," She demanded.
Y/n just stared back for a moment before replying somewhat sarcastically, "Damn, not even a hi?" She muttered. Lumine's gaze sharpened at her joke causing Y/n to begrudgingly answer. "Right, right whaddya need?" She huffed not sure what exactly Lumine wanted to hear.
Lumine slightly rolled her eyes, "What have you been doing? How's my brother doing?" She asked more specific questions.
Y/n felt like she won a little bit and answered gladly, "Well, I've been chilling with Aether. Uh, Boss Jean assigned me to help him out so now I'm being paid for my work..." She started, emphasizing that she was being rewarded.
Lumine looked somewhat incredulous at Y/n's not-so-subtle attempt at seeing if she could get paid. "You're being paid with an extended lifetime, are you not?" Lumine stated in a mildly annoyed tone.
Y/n gave a long depressed sigh at the twin's answer, "....Yeah, sure..." she muttered deflatedly. "Anyways, Aether's doing fine. Still looking for you. We just made some pretty good progress on getting him nice and connected to the teleport waypoints. Oh and we're gonna watch Rex Lapis drop his corpse on the crowd." She explained brightening up before Lumine could scold her, or attempt to commit murder.
Lumine listened somewhat appeased by the h/c headed girl's report on her brother. "That is all I needed. Remember our deal," She stated coldly before returning through the portal.
Y/n waved goodbye, "Yep, no problem, see ya!" she called as the blonde left her. "Jeez, who shoved a stick up her ass," Y/n said immediately after the portal closed.
"You should set up camp soon, it's getting late," Avieer stated, ignoring her comment towards Lumine.
Y/n nodded slightly, "Yeah, yeah. I'll get on that" She muttered lazily as she glanced around to see if there were any nice places to set up for the night. Once she found a relatively flat area she set up a tent and got a small fire started as she ate some food. Avieer had already gone into the tent to go to bed, letting her stare at the sky for the time being. I'm bored, maybe I should go find some hilichurls or something. She thought as she continued staring towards the constellations which dotted the sky. However, in the end, she decided to simply head to bed not wanting to feel like death in the morning.
