The rite of parting ended up being scheduled a week after that night. As per every morning since then Xiao woke Y/n up at precisely 5 AM to begin her morning training. "Hey, wake up," Xiao called into the room. "I'll give you 30 minutes to get ready, meet me outside." He informed strictly.
Y/n who had just barely woken up from Xiao's demands let out an annoyed groan. "I hate this motherfucker." Y/n mumbled knowing full well he'd get some water to throw on her if she didn't meet up with him in time.
Rolling out of the inn's bed she got up, stretching groggily, glancing at Avi in envy for his ability to be able to sleep uninterrupted. Quickly getting dressed in some comfortable clothes and grabbing an omelet to eat she went out in front of the Inn's entrance.
Xiao looked over and gave a curt nod, "Good morning," He greeted her while looking up to the still-dark skies. "two laps between Jueyun and the Harbor, patrol the plains and marsh, be sure to clear out all the monsters, I'd rather not have any travelers, or citizens getting hurt while exploring." he informed her evenly looking back to Y/n. "Oh, and I'll have you fight the geo hypostasis, before lunch." He added, remembering to make sure she still had her combat capabilities continuing to grow.
While it wasn't the worst thing she'd been given to do she still hated him for making her do so much so early in the morning. "Has anyone told you you're a fucking prick?" she grumbled in annoyance. She'd woken up only 20 minutes ago and he was already starting in on the day's work.
Xiao was unaffected by her annoyed comment pointing out, "Yes, you have. On multiple occasions." Looking her straight in the eyes. "Now, are you going to start or shall I add on for you to help me clear some demons as well?" He asked sharply leaving no room for argument.
Y/n rolled her eyes, "Prick." She mumbled under her breath as she went to start the laps. On the plus side, Y/n was able to enjoy the sunrise and the temperature had yet to rise for the day. On the downside, she ended up needing to kill some random monsters who were standing around on the path she usually took.
By the time she was done the sun was well over the horizon as Y/n returned to the Inn where Xiao was chatting idly with Goldet. "Oh, I see you're back. You've been taking longer these days, so I can assume you've not practiced." He commented looking at Y/n's fairly miserable state.
Y/n glared at him with a middle finger, mimicking him in a mocking voice, "You've been taking longer these days, he says..."
Aether and Paimon were eating on the deck casually watching Y/n complain. At this point, her annoyance with Xiao was just routine. Xiao had requested to have her for the mornings, this usually let the others have a fairly calm morning and a significantly more mellowed out Y/n. While Xiao reminded Y/n of the rest of her duties for the day Childe came out with Avieer sitting on his shoulder. "Good morning!" He said cheerfully sitting with Aether and Paimon not bothering with interrupting Y/n and Xiao.
Paimon nodded sleepily, "Morning," as she continued eating her breakfast. Aether has a small nod of acknowledgment.
Y/n gave a long sigh, "Childe, can you help me kill all the monsters?" She asked looking to the Harbinger pleadingly, hoping he could help her out here.
Xiao gave him a sharp look, indicating there was a correct answer here, "Sorry, comrade. But you gotta train to improve, you've still got some room to grow after all!" He declined her request with an apologetic smile.
Y/n rolled her eyes and stormed off, knowing that Childe was her best bet, "Fine, I'll do it myself!" She called back at them angrily as she left.
Around 30 minutes in Y/n was startled by a familiar feminine voice. "Y/n." A certain blonde said coldly as Y/n turned sharply instinctively pointing her spearhead at Lumine. "I'll give you 2 seconds to put your weapon down." She stated calmly, understanding that she might've startled the H/c headed girl.
