Zhongli's Introduction

Aether and y/n teleported back to the harbor once Aether had activated the teleport point on the mountain. As they returned Aether suggested, "We should probably tell Childe we're done now." Aether didn't seem too pleased to have to go and find Childe again, but he didn't want to be rude.

Y/n groaned, "Do we have to though?" She asked sharing a similar opinion to Aether. "The only two good things about that man is he's hot and has a cute brother," She grumbled, counting on her fingers to accentuate her point, entirely forgetting that she shouldn't reasonably know his brother.

While Aether hadn't caught her blunder Paimon did, "Wait, you met his brother?!" She asked surprised, once again getting suspicious of Y/n. "You never mentioned that, are you lying to Paimon?" She interrogated Y/n with furrowed brows as Aether began leading them in the search of the harbinger.

Y/n looked away nervously, knowing she messed up, "No, he's just mentioned his brother when we first met. I ran into Childe when  went on vacation, you know?" She tried to do some rough patch-up work for her blunder.

Paimon stared at Y/n for a moment trying to discern whether the strange woman was lying. In the end, she assumed Y/n wasn't, after all, why would Y/n go out of her way to know someone she seemed to dislike so much. "...Fine, Paimon will let you off the hook for now," Paimon said still somewhat suspiciously.

Y/n sighed internally glad she took Y/n's shitty lies for truth. Aether had led the group to the Northland bank again, assuming Childe would stay around there. Aether's assumption proved to be correct when they saw the ginger stood there with crossed arms, "You've finally returned. How was your journey to Jueyun Karst?" He asked spotting the three approaching him. 

Aether answered a bit too honestly, "We went to see Moo-" however he was quickly cut off.

 Y/n who realized quickly that Aether was gonna say everything suddenly put her hand over his mouth, "The trip was fine." Y/n stated bluntly still looking at Childe as if he'd murdered her family in cold blood. 

Childe looked at the girl feeling a bit irked, "Oh, you must've been lazing around with the adepti, otherwise it wouldn't have taken you so long," Childe prodded her with a sly smile.

Y/n smiled right back full of spite, "Indeed, we had some tea and had a nice old chat of how Rex Lapis's corpse dropped harder than your balls," She retorted sarcastically.

Aether was concerned with her comparison while Paimon was just confused, "Wha.. balls drop?" She asked having gotten lost when Y/n had shut Aether up. Y/n just stared back at Paimon, not wanting to taint the sweet summer child. "Hey, don't look at Paimon like that!" Paimon complained still not knowing what was going on.

Y/n sighed and just shrugged Paimon's question off, "Anyways, Mr. Poptart, we've done as you've said, The illuminated and whatever else adepti was pissed. What do we do now?" She hurriedly changed the subject.

Childe noticed the sudden subject change and went along with it, "I'm feeling generous, so I'll share some information with you as a form of goodwill," He sighed accepting Y/n wouldn't be returning to the subject of the adepti. "Regarding the archon's passing, They've announced that, as the true killer has not yet been found, they are not allowing anyone to pay their respects to the Exuvia." Childe began explaining the situation. "They've even gone so far as to try and cut off information. but with Rite of Descension of passing and all they've been struggling."

Paimon who was listening suddenly interrupted and asked, "Wait, who's 'Exuvia'?" with a raised brow.

Y/n quickly answered for her, "Rex Lapis's adeptal name." looking back over to Paimon. How was she even a guide in the original game?  Y/n wondered finding Paimon a little too clueless.
