Oh, shit.

After essentially being donated flowers the group returned to the Harbor to finish up the Rite of passing. However, when they'd returned the entrance was abnormally swamped with a mixture of the Millelith and the Fatui. The tension in the air alerted everyone that this was not a good encounter. "Fucking shit-" Y/n muttered in annoyance feeling like the plot was beginning to actually ramp up now.

Paimon seemed incredibly confused with the sudden explosion of tension. "Huh, what happened?" She asked looking around the crowd.

Zhongli also made a comment, "This atmosphere is high abnormal..." he murmured mildly concerned with the sudden situation. "Something big must've happened." he pointed out the obvious.

Giving him a 'no-shit-sherlock' look Y/n added in. "Fucking Fatui works fast, huh" she grumbled, just that morning the area had been perfectly fine, yet now the Fatui had not only moved in but were already causing problems for everyone involved.

Aether gave a solemn nod, having similar feelings towards the Fatui. "We should probably find out what's going on and act fast." He pointed out not wanting to fall too far behind Fatui's movements.

Paimon nodded and quickly approached some people "Hey... what's going on?" Paimon openly asked one of the Fatui members who was standing pot right next to the bridge.

The masked blonde looked over to Paimon and the group that followed behind her. He recognized the tall, lean man, "You're the consultant to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, I presume these folks are helping you?" He asked, entirely ignoring Paimon.

Paimon gave a little pout and Y/n's non-existent patience for the Fatui ran out, "Oi, blondie, our little bud asked you a question. Does it matter if we're helping the dementia patient or not?" She snapped at them.

The man looked a bit astonished with the snappy h/c headed girl, replying with a restrained voice, "I was simply trying to ease the situation a bit..." He glared at her. Y/n didn't notice or care, simply rolling her eyes. Feeling less inclined to share much of anything he sighed and said, "The adepti of Jueyun are on the move." he explained briefly.

Y/n let out a loud groan, "Absolute boomers, all of them." She muttered to herself, truly wishing to maybe deck a certain 'moose'.

Aether chimed in getting back to the point, "What do the moves of the Adepti have to do with the Fatui though?" He asked bluntly.

The man looked down to the traveler answering surprisingly honestly, "That's Ningguang's doing." He clicked his tongue in annoyance before explaining some more for the seemingly clueless blonde. "She proclaimed that 'in these tumultuous times, the Millelith must rein in the actions of the Fatui.'" He imitated her voice in a nasal tone, making his view of the woman obvious.

Y/n shrugged, "To be fair, you guys are insanely sketchy." She pointed out flatly. Avi giving the best 'nod' a slime could, causing mild slime in the Fatui member.

"Whatever, that's just an opinion of an outsider who does not know the true meaning of our actions." He said dismissively, causing Y/n to give him a mildly miffed look. "Anyways, Mr. Zhongli, you're one of Childe's close associates. Please understand that your actions will reflect on us. Don't let anyone catch you off-guard." He added looking back to Zhongli ignoring the spiteful glare from the girl.

Paimon seemed worried about the overall well-being of the harbor, turning to Zhongli and asking, "There must be something we can do, right?" She asked seeming to feel helpless with everything that was going on.

Zhongli responded solemnly. "Do you intend to use your neutral identity as an intermediary between both sides?" He asked before looking to Y/n and added, "...Or your weapons to turn the balance?" He seemed unsure of what they may do. Sure, if it was Y/n alone he knew she'd have long tried to fight anyone and every one, however Aether and Paimon seemed to have mellowed her out since she'd trained with Xiao.
