Back on track

The next morning Y/n woke up vaguely recognizing she was hugging something, no... Someone? "The shit?" She mumbled under her breath incredibly confused.

Quickly sitting up, she looked down at the person she'd apparently shared a bed with the previous night. I wasn't drunk, so definitely no accidental fucking. She reasoned to herself, thinking back on the previous day. "Oh, right, that..." She muttered realizing it was just Avi.

It took her another moment for a cat-like grin to grow on her face, Does this mean I can blackmail him? She thought immediately. Avieer was still asleep, not even noticing she'd woken up.

Y/n finally got out of bed, stretching a bit as she did so. the morning rays had already begun to filter in through the room's window meaning Y/n couldn't justify turning right back around and snuggling up with the silver-haired man on the bed. 

Feeling a bit grumpy over that fact Y/n decided to just head back to monstadt and get the slime while her traveling companion was still fast asleep. 

Once she returned to the inn she quickly slipped by the front desk and went back to the room she'd shared with Avieer. bursting through the door as per usual she was met with a funny scene.

One of Xiao with a spear pointed at Avieer, glaring at the 'stranger'. "...Am I interrupting something here?" She asked a bit startled by the scene. 

Xiao didn't look back but still answered, "I came in to wake you up for training, but this man was in your bed." He snarled glaring at Avi.

Avieer seemed done with life just deadpanning the shorter boy before him. "Y/n, tell your cat to knock it off." He muttered pushing the spear-tip off to the side, glancing back to Y/n.

Y/n felt like she was better off just leaving, but she still had some responsibility to keep Xiao from attempting to kill Avieer. "Xiao, don't stab the hot man." She said facepalming. She went over and stood between the two.

Giving the slime to Avieer, Y/n glanced back to the still annoyed Xiao. "By the way, where's the kid?" He asked a bit confused, realizing that the young child that had been with the girl was no longer there. 

Y/n came up with a pretty easy lie on the spot simply saying, "I was just dropping him off before I came back to see you stabbing snow white over here." She said flatly.

Xiao looked a bit confused, "Snow-white?" He asked as he put the weapon away, feeling that with both himself and Y/n the stranger wouldn't be able to try anything.

Y/n remembered that he wouldn't know any basic fairy tales and wondered how she could explain that one. "Snow-white is, was? Is a folktale princess where I come from." She explained a bit more to the Adeptus. 

Xiao nodded slowly, "Uh-huh? Anyway, how do you know him?" He asked pointing back to Avieer feeling a bit suspicious of the two. 

Y/n went back to what she always defaulted to, "Clingy ex." She said nonchalantly.

Avieer looked annoyed with her antics, "Y/n-" He began before getting promptly cut off.

"Just kidding, dudes just an old friend, I had him stop by cause I had nothing to do," she said hurriedly. "Anyways, we'll be going now," she said cheerfully. casually guiding her silver-haired traveling companion towards the door passed Xiao. 

Xiao just let her go, not wanting to deal with her constant and persistent complaints while training. Once they were fairly far away from the inn Avieer once more took residence within the slime. "Right, so what'd I miss yesterday?" The slime asked as he took his typical place n her head.

Y/n seemed a bit confused, "Huh, do you not remember yesterday?" She asked, wondering if it was just a side effect from Albedo's dumbass potion. 

The slime confirmed her thoughts, "Yeah, I drank it, felt queasy, blacked out, and ended up waking up to a migraine and Xiao's threats." He explained what he knew.
