Epilogue part 2

We decided to move back to Manila for her delivery. Lalo na at hindi pa tuluyang nahuhuli ang may kagagawan ng ambush noong nakaraang buwan. I want her beside me to assure that she's safe. Naiwan ang kanyang dalawang kapatid roon dahil kailangan pa nilang tapusin ang semester bago tuluyang lumipat dito sa Manila sa susunod na pasukan.

I watched my fiancee as she moved around the dining table. Yeah, my fiancee. I proposed to her two times in Baguio and all was rejected. I understand that there's a doubt in her heart. I'm patient though. I can wait for her until she will see the sincerity in me. I tried again here in Manila on my birthday. Napaisip tuloy ako kung pumayag lang ba siya dahil birthday ko. Regardless of that, she made my birthday extra special.

She was busy setting up our cutlery. My family is coming over for a dinner. May hindi tuloy mapakali. I remembered her confessing how my family made her nervous. Hindi naman ngayon ang una nilang pagkikita. My family visited Baguio. Doon ko ipinakilala si Nylah. I arranged a dinner to formally introduce her. I don't want her to doubt my love for her just because I haven't formally introduced her to my family.

My mom asked forgiveness for how she treated her badly before.

Naglakad ako papunta sa kanya. Bahagyang umangat ang kanyang mata at agad ding bumalik sa ginagawa . I moved closer to her and wrapped my hands around her potruding abdomen.

"Hmmm?" she asked as she placed the fork and knife in their places.

"How are you feeling?"

"Nervous and excited." sabi niya. Napangisi ako.

"Chill, they love you." I said.

"Alam ko." seryoso niyang sabi kaya napatawa ako.

Apparently, hindi lang kami ang excited sa aming baby. My whole family literally keeps sending stuff for Nylah and our unborn child.

Ilang minuto pa ay dumating na sila. My mom and dad were both presents and they were civil. Wala si Tita. It's understandable. They can't be seated in the same place without rolling their eyes at each other. Brei and Ivo together with his wife and son were here also.

"Good evening," she greeted them. I can sense the nervousness in her tone kahit pilit man niya iyong itago ng ngiti. I know her. Mas lalo akong lumapit sa kanya.

I saw how my brother brows arched. Nakangisi ito sa amin. Beside her is her wife, Serene na buhat ang aking pamangkin.

We settled first in the living room before we proceed to the dining.

"Nylah, I heard from my son that you already said yes to his proposal. Perhaps, you're pressured because he asked you on his birthday?" tanong ni Dad.

I groaned. Nakangisi kong nilingon si Nylah. She was smiling ear to ear.

" Not really. I can perfectly reject him if I don't want him in my life."

Good answer, Baby. Mas lalong lumawak ang ngiti ko.

"I heard you reject his proposal twice. Baka naman pinikot ka na nito sa pangatlo." Ivo laughed. I arched my brows at him.

"Let's just say I rejected him that time to make his birthday extra special," she answered. I chuckled at her.

"Welcome to the family then." mama said.

Ngumiti siya. We peacefully eat. Although, we tried to choose light topics hindi pa rin maiwasang mapag-usapan ang kalagayan ni Tito. He's still in a coma and not making any progress. We can't indict the person behind the ambush because we don't have enough evidence. It's frustrating. I'm glad Nylah's with me.
