Amara's POV
It's 5:30 A.M. in the morning and I really woke up early because it's someone's special day.
Dahan dahan akong bumangon mula sa bed and I tied my hair up tsaka ako lumabas ng kwarto.
Usually, 6 A.M. nagigising sila Vera eh. But anyways, I wore my apron and started cooking.
I am going to cook Bistek Tagalog na hindi pwedeng mawala sa menu kapag birthday niya. Parang tradisyon niya ganu'n. And he doesn't eat this dish unless ako ang nagluto.
I started preparing the ingredients para maaga kong matapos bago siya gumising.
While waiting for that to cook, I took out the chocolate cake that I baked last night and placed it on the kitchen counter. Then kinuha ko na 'yung buttercream frosting in a ziploc bag and I started writing on top of the cake.
"Yan." I said when I finally finished the lettering. I tasted the buttercream frosting that got on my fingers while looking at the cake kung tama na ba 'yung gawa ko or dadagdagan ko pa.
"Hmm, I think that's okay na." Sabi ko then I took my phone and took a photo of my masterpiece.
In-off ko na 'yung stove and transferred the dish into a plate, syempre with a beautiful plating para special.
I also made coffee for him na sarili kong recipe. Hahaha. Kapag birthday niya lang tsaka ko siya ginagawan nito ever since we were in college pa. Kapag hindi niya birthday, kailangan niya akong kulitin at lambingin ng matindi para gawan ko siya nito kasi nga, exclusive lang for his birthday. Haha. Ang arte ko 'no?
Then parang tradisyon na rin na before mag-end ang birthday niya, instead of wine, we would drink hot chocolate. We are still kids at heart kahit na mag-asawa na kami. Hahahaha.
When everything is fine here in the dining room with all the decorations and stuff, kinuha ko na 'yung cake na may candle and I brought the lighter with me pag-akyat sa room.
Alex' POV
Kinakapa ko 'yung kabilang side ng bed and Amara wasn't there. Maagang bumangon? It's so early.
"Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday, happy birthday
Happy birthday to you!"To my surprise, my wife came in holding a cake with a lighted candle on top. Naka-pajamas pa siya and mukhang inuna talaga ang pag-surpresa sa akin.
"Happy birthday Dad! Blow your candle na but make a wish first!" She energetically said kaya I closed my eyes and thought to myself, may hihilingin pa ba ako? I almost have everything because I already have a happy family.
I thanked God for another year in my life and I just wished for happiness and good health for my wife and our girls. And I hope that their wishes would come true too. Then I blowed the candle.
"Yey! Happy birthday ulit. Love you." Then she bent down to give me a birthday kiss.
"Love you too. Thank you Hon."
"Let's go down na?" Yaya niya.
"Sige. Akin na iyan." Kinuha ko na sa kaniya 'yung cake kasi parang ang bigat bigat 'tapos kanina niya pa hawak.
