Now that the new semester started it was finally grind time. Workouts are picking back up and I was in classes again. Though a lot of student athletes don't care about their studies I do. I have big plans regarding my education.
I walk into my 2 pm class which was my last for today. It was Human Health Science which isn't a requirement for my degree but an elective I could take that I think is important to living a good lifestyle. My body is my instrument and in order for me to be successful I need to know how to take care of it on and off the field.
I walk in and it was a pretty decent sized class. I scan the room for a place to sit and see a few guys on the team. They give me a wave and I happily wave back. Just as I was about to go sit next to them I feel this presence. A presence I know all too well. I quickly look to the back row of the class and in the corner there she sat. In all her beauty.
"Hey! Lilly" I call out and her head pops up. Her eyes go wide when she notices me frantically waving at her.
I skip on over and make it to the open seat right next to her. She looks me up and down to make sure it's really me.
"You sure know how to make an entrance" she admits.
"I guess you can say I have a way of making myself known" I admit.
"I didn't know you were in this class" she confesses.
"I picked it up last minute. Wanted some more credits and figured this could help me get my body right" I shrug.
"I see" she nods.
I sit down then start to take my things out of my bag as she looks at me weird. "What? You don't want to sit next to me" I challenge.
"Of course I do" she claims before stopping. That was the first time I heard her outright say she wants me around. She tolerated me, sure, but to know she wants me. That's a whole different thing. "I just figured you would go sit with your friends."
"I am" I smile.
She smiles back and for the first time... I think we're making progress.
The class comes and goes and for the first day I feel like we got right into it. There's a lot to learn so I guess so no better time than the present. I walk Jillian out as we head back to the dorms for the night.
"I learned so much already. That's going to be an interesting class" I admit.
"I always took a liking to cooking. I'm hoping I can learn a lot too" she admits.
"Do you want to do anything in your life with cooking" I wonder.
"Maybe. It can be something I can fall back on. I'm trying a bunch of different things now" she admits.
"I would love to try your recipes someday" I sigh.
"I can make you dinner" she offers.
And as much as I wanted to jump at the offer. As much as I wanted to get closer to her, there was just something's I haven't told her yet that I am not sure how this would go if I did.
