Chapter 71: False Power

The security forces shot a volley of energy bullets at Lion and Cliff. The captain used his Mercury to create a huge wall in front of them. He used it to shield himself and his subordinate. Using the wall, Lion fired fifty mercury bullets.

All of them incapacitated their targets in an instant. Some of the guards tried to ambush them, unfortunately the attempt failed. Lion without paying much attention to them, knocked them out easily.

The captain is so powerful. Why did he ask me to accompany him? Clearly he doesn't need me. Cliff thought.

After about three minutes, all one hundred and fifty five people were defeated. "That was a good warm up. Sorry for not involving you kid. I guess I got carried away."

"N-no I'm fine. It's just rare to see you fight captain. I'm just happy I got the chance to see it." Cliff responded. The captain ruffled his hair before leading the way.

"Don't be nervous around me rookie. I may be a captain, but I'm also a regular old human too." Lion smiled while leading the way. "Are you coming?"

"Y-yes sir." Cliff responded before running.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the building, vines pursued Zack all over the battlefieldfield. Thanks to his quick thinking, he figured out a way to evade them. Cody on the other hand, aggressively destroyed them using his 'night staff'. The Dlamini boy expanded his weapon and used it to jump into the air. He then switched to 'phantom claw' and dove straight at Kenya.

The Motsa boy created water tentacles to try and stop Cody. Like a knife through butter, Cody cut the tentacles. Kenya then sent Cody flying using his 'hydro sphere.' "Hey Cody, is Simon alive?" Kenya laughed

"Dude let's just kill him already. Looking at an abnormal disgust me." A boy complained as he fired emerald crystals at Cody. Cody blocked the atteck by expanding his claws. The boy's eyes turned yellow and Zack could see the intent to kill.

"Cody don't listen to them! They are trying to provoke yo-" Zack was interrupted by pollen exploding all around him. Another boy then blasted an inferno at him.

"Shut up Zack. That has nothing to do with you." The two spoke as they attacked him again.

"This has everything to do with me." Zack responded before leaping into the air. "Aeolus blast!" Suddenly behind Zack, a face of a man appeared. The two quickly attacked Zack, however their attacks were stopped thanks to the man blowing the wind.

"Here's another one; wind slicer!" Zack shouted as he launched his attack. It easily cut through the boys' defenses sending them flying in the process. Training with Teddy was worth it, my attacks have gotten stronger in the last few weeks.

Before Zack could take a step forward the last member of Kenya's group approached him. He created a wall made of mercury. "Get out of my way Bheki." Zack's red eyes lightened up.

"Look at you acting all confident, just because you defeated Daluxolo and Ashton." Bheki mocked Zack's accomplishment.

"If you thought they were weak why didn't you help them out?" Zack questioned. Bheki then shoved his hand in his pocket to retrieve something thing. As his hand came out, Zack's eyes widened. "Is that the"

"Ether potion?" Bheki completed Zack's question. "Yes it is. Our benefactor gave it to us for putting Teddy in the hospital. After we are done here we are supposed to go to the hospital, kill her and take her eyeballs."

"That stuff is illegal, you should throw it away immediately!"

"Why should I? With this I can finally surpass you." Bheki boasted before drinking the potion. Like lightning his alchemic levels started to rise and his eyes started turning  black. "With this potion, defeat is impossible."
