Chapter 23 The rescue squad

Sito along with Clement, Cliff and Abby were standing at the western gate of Midas city. "Does anyone know why we are standing here?" Cliff asked as he threw a stone at a nearby tree. Everyone else shook their heads even, while Clement stared into the horizon.

Even he is clueless. Sito noted as he looked at Clement from a nearby oak tree.

The group went silent as they observed cars coming in and out of the city. The sounds they made was no issue however, what they found problematic was the waiting. The sun had already began to touch the mountain peaks and the blistering cold had invaded the once warm city.

"Whatever it is, it's something to do with my dumbass brother." Sito finally broke the silence. "That retard couldn't even complete a mission right." He added. Damn him.

"Shut up." Abby quickly responded to Sito's comments. "He protected the princess that's all that matters."

"True but he got himself and a fellow comrade captured. His ineptitude is making the Dlamini clan a laughing stalk. He is a useless abnormal along with Maya. " The whole area fell silent after Clement's words.

Abby looked at the ground as she turned her head towards the horizon. It's  bright orange light illuminated the evening sky.

"Why don't all of you put your money where your mouth is." Maskaraid spoke while standing on a branch of an oak tree. Lighting moved around her body as she charged up her attack. "Lightning blade." She said before leaping of the branch. Before the kids could react she was already amongst them. "Very slow." She said before releasing her attack in the form of a slash. The kids were sent flying by that attack.

As the dust settled revealing that the children were survived. This caused her to smile underneath her mask. She was especially impressed by Sito. You've grown stronger.

"Who are you and why did you attack us like that?" Abby asked while Maskaraid returned sheathed her sword. The others simply activated their attacks following the question. Which caused her to laugh a bit.

"You guys are a riot..." Maskaraid said as she looked around. "Great then welcome to my squad the Trio slayers. I'm Maskaraid a dragon slayer and you guys along with two more are in my squad." She said before walking towards the forest.

"Squad? What do you mean and where are we going?" Abby asked.

Suddenly Maskaraid stopped at the forest entrance and turned towards the group. "To Rainbow of course, we are the rescue team after all." With those words she continued on her way and everyone followed her.

"Your highness." Said a soldier who barged into the Throne room. "The Knights from Ngwane are on the move and they are headed this way." He added as he knelt down.

"Who is leading them?" Mason asked curiously.

"Lion the leader of Bare foot and Linda the Leader of serpentine sir." The soldier added.

"Prepare to fight back, this is war... Precious get our two best army commanders." All she did was nod and quietly walk while, swaying her hips slightly. "I guess it's time for the plan to begin."

"What about me Master?" She asked before she left room. One of her hands was rested on her hip as she faced the king.

"Don't worry your time will come." He said as he smiled devilishly. Meanwhile Wyet was at the corner of the room and quietly snuck out without being noticed.

"So they have come for them, great. I have to keep my control can't lash out like before." Wyet said with his arms folded together. He looked through a large window in the hall ignoring the countless soldiers running around. For a split second lightning crashed down causing him to smile in anticipation. "Another group is coming in from the north."
