"We are back madam." Said Phile  to Linda who was sitting behind her desk. She motioned at them to enter the room. One by one the rest of the team that went to Sargo Village entered aside from Becca, who was being treated in the hospital. The group slightly bowed in  respect to Linda's rank.

"What did your team discover at Sargo?" Linda asked her subordinate. She folded her papers and neatly placed them aside.

"The enemy sent three of their finest warriors there. I don't know if they succeeded or not, but we prevented the destruction of the city. Once more we managed to defeat  one of them. This was the same person that attacked Becca in Brema. Lastly, we think the enemy has somebody who can use spatial magic. That's all."

Linda was quiet for sometime. The others left her office, as she contemplated the data.
If the enemy can move in and out as they wish, then we have a huge problem.

Miles and Ayanda reached the northern border of the forest. Miles noticed craters that trees have grown in and old residue of mercury on the ground. Grass around that area refused to grow.

"What the hell happened here?" Miles asked as he continued poking around. He turned to Ayanda to see what she thought of this. To his suprise he found glaring at the forest behind them.

"Ayanda, what's up?" Miles asked his female  partner. The look she had was not reassuring in fact it got Miles' heart pumping for all the wrong reasons.

"I have this feeling that we are being followed. At first I thought it was just the local wildlife but, the same thing has been repeating for a while now." Ayanda replied,  as she activated her element.

"They are close aren't they?" Miles asked, only to get a nod from her. He also activated his fireball and was ready for action. Suddenly out of nowhere, the two heard growls coming from some bushes.

The sound was followed by two pairs of eyes penertrating  the forest from behind some trees. The snouts Followed popped out, then the paws and finally both the bodies were out in the open.
"Dia wolves." Miles said with utter worry in the tone.

"The most vile creatures to walk the planet. Their bones can cancel magic energy." Miles added.
"That's why they kept disappearing." Miles nodded in response to that. The was nowhere to run for the two so they had to fight.

"Even if we run, they can out speed us. Fighting is the only option. There is one problem though, I don't know how to defeat them." Miles continued, as they followed the movements of the beasts separately.  Finally both of them were face to face with their own behemoth. The wolf that faced Ayanda was white as snow. It had long sharp nails and it was about her chest height in size. The one that faced Miles was as black as ash. It had long fangs that protruded from it's closed mouth. It seemed to have more fur than the other one making it look bigger.

The wolves circled the two knights looking for an opening. Miles and Ayanda did not turn their backs on them. Miles readied his fire magic while Ayanda prepared her emerald spear.

The white wolf launched itself at Ayanda. With quick reflexes, she attempted to stab it in the heart. Her spear broke with ease but it was successful in driving back the creature. Just as she was steadying herself, Miles bumped into her from the back. This caused her to stumbled onto the ground.

The black wolf was eating every fireball Miles threw at it. The worse part was that he pushed Ayanda to the ground making her an easy target. With all his might he created a giant fireball. He caused it to explode, creating large amounts of air pressure blowing the creatures at the trees. This allowed Ayanda time to get up and ready herself.

The winds travelled some distance. Captain Larze who was not too far, felt the rush. This caused him to increase his pace. Maya, Cody and Layla felt it too but, danger was on it's way to them as well.

The creatures stood up unscathed.  Their fur was as good as new. Miles knew that the attack only warmed the creatures, the white wolf looked clean as if nothing happened.

Both he and Ayanda launched their attacks simultaneously at the wolves. A barrage of emerald shards rushed past Ayanda towards the white canine.  She manipulated them to go directly at them at high speeds. If anything, all she managed to do was scratch it once the rest of them broke. The wolf dodged those projectiles as if child's play. She tried her best controlling them, but it was a matter of minutes before her body reserves ran dry.

Miles on the other side, wasn't fairing any better. The only thing that caught fire was the vegetation around the wolf. The wolf kept bursting through the balls of flames like nothing happened. "Their anti magic abilities are insane. I don't know how long we'll last." Miles said to the stressed Ayanda.

Veins below their eye sockets had appeared. Their breathing also deepened. Suddenly Ayanda got to her knees as a drop of blood leaked from her noise. Her manipulation of the Spears also weakened slowing down the shards. Miles saw this and stood between the wolves. 'Heavenly burst!' he shouted, just as the monsters were nearing them. This created two giant fireballs which he used to blast the creatures away from them. The wolves destroyed six trees respectively before landing on the rocky grass covered earth.

Miles eyes were filled with blood and he fell to the ground. The layed there not moving an inch. The wolves quickly got back up and made their way to them. Just when they were ten feet from the knights. The creatures found themselves dangling from tree branches.

"Sorry, but my team is not on the menu." Said captain Larze who tied a knot on a nearby gum tree. He quickly made his way to his unconscious team members, he sighed in relief upon discovering that they were still breathing.

Larze looked at the wolves thinking of a strategy to defeat them.

"I found you princess." Said a person emerging from the forest. He was two feet taller than Cody with arms thicker than his face. He long white flowing hair.

He had no clothing on his upper body leaving his hairy chest bare. His arms were filled with veins with an eclipse tattoo on his left, tanned wrist.

His red eyes glared at the kids as he bared his yellow teeth. He forced a smile similar to that of a snake once it has found its prey. "I think I can play with you before I take the girl."

Update week is on but. I think I'll finish the arc this week to prepare for the next one which will be large. And the Dia wolves aren't done yet as well.

I'm hiding a twist in the story.
