Chapter 29 Shadows

A young girl set at the hospital roof top. She stared at the direction to where Rainbow was longingly. Tears flowed from her eyes as she gripped the guard rails tighter. "No matter how much I try I'm still not strong enough big sis." Her memory of all those who helped her constantly played. Each of those people were then killed and she couldn't do anything about it. And now she is in while her people and the knights from this kingdom fight for salvation.

"Why the long face?" Said someone from behind her. She had a small smile on her caramel toned face with wavy hair bouncing of it as she approach Layla. "Excuse my rudeness your majesty. My name is Becca Mamba the daughter of Leo."

Layla faked a smile to try and look strong. "It's okay I was just... Thinking about stuff." Becca leaned on the rails and looked her face directly. "Why am I so useless and weak?"

"Who called you weak? You....weak? I doubt that your majesty." She breathed in deep before continuing. "You are not weak if anything you are a survivor. No matter how hard it was, you still continued to find help for your people under intense situations. That is a mark of a  great person. In battle strength isn't that important, the heart is. Please remember that princess."

With those words Layla's smile became genuine and a silhouette of her sister began to take shape on Becca. "Layla although your magic lacks offensive capabilities you possess intellectual superiority. Be proud of that because strength isn't everything "

"Lady Becca would you kindly accompany me to the Magi building and.... thank you." Becca sprung up from her layed back position and gave Layla a cheeky smile.

"Lets go. "

Abby ran through the ally ways trying her best to avoid conflict between the two sides. Her main concern wasn't on the war itself but, on rescuing her friends before the ritual can start. According to what she said they should be somewhere in the city. I'll leave the ritual to commander Linda and Lion.

Just as she was about to cross the street a strange hand grabbed and tossed her back into the shadows of the alley. Abby landed on some rubbish laid out on the floor. Luckily for her the trash softened her landing. As she stood up to try and get her bearings  Lady T appeared from the shadow. "Hello Abby, it's a pleasure to meet you." Lady T had her arms crossed and a confident smile across her face.

From nowhere Abby blasted magma from her hands at high speeds. However, her attack was blocked by a shadow hand emerging from the concrete. "Where are my friends?" Abby shouted as she took a step forward.

Just before Abby could take another step Maya appeared from out of nowhere and shot Lady T with her full power. This caused a big scowl to appear on Lady T's face, whipping her smile away. The attack was faster than her reaction time but, all it did  was scar her.  Blood leaked from her wound making her even more angrier. "Where are Cody and the captain you witch?"

Instead of a reply Lady sent a wave of spikes at her. They moved in a linear fashion erupting from the ground. Abby was able to block them with her magma walls. She melted the sides of two buildings causing them to collapse. This allowed the both of them time to escape. Just before they could leave the alley two hands appeared from underground and pulled Abby inside. "Maya go find the others I'll try and escape!" Abby shouted before she was fully submerged.

One minute I'm with everyone the next I'm by myself. What happened? And more importantly where am I? Cody thought as he walked down an empty unfamiliar street. He could hear explosion from the distance which indicated that a battle was going on. "Although I'm not sure where I am however I do know where I should be>" He said to himself as he ran towards the the rumble. "People of Rainbow the future Magi is on his way. And he is going to save you all."
