"...and then they sent her to hell! I can't understand."

Zote was rambling to Yura about warrior cats again as they walked towards their destination.

"Which cat where you talking about again?"

"I- where you ignoring me?"

"Hm. Yup, I sure was. Tell me who it was again."

Zote sighed. "What are you plotting?"

"What?"

"You wouldn't ignore me, I know that."

"How would you know?"

"Because...well..." he couldn't quite put it in words. He decided it'd be better to carry on. "Mapleshade. I was talking about Mapleshade."

"Oh, the one that had her kits drown in the river and then she proceeded to go on a killing spree. That one."

"See, you were paying attention. What was the use of that?"

"Any excuse to hear your voice is a good one." replied Yura, grinning.

Not this again. He turned his face away.

"You're lucky I don't mind this behavior of yours."

"...and you're even cuter when you act like you don't care."

"Ok, now you're pushing it."

"Was the c word too much?"

"Obviously!" He exclaimed, before thinking back to the night before his first vision. "Or...I don't know."

"Ok, ok, I'll hold off on calling you that then." His friend looked away from him, and searched their surroundings. "It was somewhere out from the neighborhood. There was like an abandoned house..."

"What, did you play with ghosts?"

"...I almost wish."

"Why's that?"

"There's someone I wish I could see again."

"Oh..." Zote remembered. "I'm sorry."

"Ah chill, I got someone just as important walking with me right now." Yura said, trying to keep his smile. It didn't last though, as he stopped to look at one of the houses.

"Oh."

"Oh?" Zote turned to look up at Yura's distraught face.

"Well, there's a path in the woods that leads to that house."

"And?"

"It's behind my dad's house."

"Surely that can't be to bad though, right?"

Yura looked down toward Zote again.

"Nobody told you?"

"Told me what?"

"The reason I'm living with Damion at all is- shit!"

He saw the front door of the house open. Out walked someone he would have hoped to never see.

"...Yura."

"Hi...Dad."

"You're still wearing it."

"..."

He looked at the boy who stood beside his son.

"Who's this?"

"What?"

"Don't play dumb."

"None of your business." He held out an arm, and Zote stood back. This sure wasn't going anywhere good.
