"I don't know about you guys but I am so hungry!" Dean complained, hopping out of the engine that had just arrived back at the barn.

"Yeah, me too!" Jack agreed with his best friend.

Maya couldn't help but laugh at the firefighter. "You two always hungry," she commented as she hung her turnout coat up on the side of the engine.

"Hey! I'm a grown man, can you complain?" Dean grinned.

"It's my turn to cook tonight!" Travis called out from the other side of the engine.

"Yes, that's what I am talking about!" Vic cheered as she high-fived Travis.

Maya couldn't help but laugh at the firefighters when the vibration of her phone pulled her attention away, fishing it out of her pocket, she frowned when she spotted the name of Maddie's school being the people to call her.

"You don't look happy," Vic pointed out seeing the blonde's uncertain expression.

Maya held the phone up in her hand. "Maddie's school is phoning me. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not," she said as she exhaled a sigh. "I gotta take this," she said as she walked away from the rest of the firefighters. "Hello?" she spoke.

"Hi, Mrs DeLuca-Bishop? Its Principal Linsley calling from Stratford Middle School," The woman spoke on the other end of the phone. Maya was familiar with the woman due to the several run-ins that she had with the woman due to her job and her daughter as well.

"Yeah, hi. That's me. Is everything okay?" Maya questioned concerned, she knew her daughter's principle wouldn't just call her without reason.

"Would it be possible for you to come down to the school to have a chat? I know you're probably busy and I did try your wife but I couldn't get hold of her," The woman questioned.

"Uh yeah, I just need to clear it with my captain first," Maya agreed hesitantly.

"Great, thanks. See you soon," The principal said.

"Yeah, bye," Maya muttered as she ended the call and walked back into the barn with the rest of the firefighters.

"I take it by the unhappy face that it wasn't good news?" Dean questioned when he spotted the blonde.

"What happened?" Jack asked.

"I don't know what's happened, Maddie's principal just said that she needs to talk to me but knowing my luck, Maddie's gotten herself into some kind of trouble," Maya told them as she shook her head.

Vic furrowed her eyebrow in confusion. "On the first day?" she asked.

"Yeah, my thoughts exactly," Maya said as she sighed. "I gotta go talk to Beckett anyways. I'll see you guys in a bit," she said as she headed towards the Captain's office, she knocked on door cautiously. "Captain Beckett?" she called out.

Beckett looked up from his desk at the blonde firefighter. "Bishop, what can I do for you?" he questioned.

Maya stepped further into the office and stood in front of the man at the desk. "Uh, my daughters' principal called me and she needs me to come in and talk," she told him.

"You're in the middle of a shift, Bishop," Beckett said sounding less than impressed. "Don't you have a wife to help you out with this kind of stuff?" he questioned.

"Yes sir but they weren't able to get hold of her," Maya explained.

"Very well, Bishop. Go take of your family problem," Beckett agreed begrudgingly.

Maya smiled and nodded, starting to walk away before she stopped and turned back around. "Also sir, depending on the situation, I was wondering if it would be alright if I brought my daughter back here? I know it's a lot to ask but she is a good kid and will stay out of the way," she said, biting her lip anxiously as she awaited the man's answer.
