A/N - hello! Since my stocks of oneshots are slowly decreasing, I'm trying to build them back up again using the popular tropes from TikTok and writing based on your requests.
Also, I'm still working quite diligently on my book. I'm still writing the first draft, where I could hopefully share with you guys soon.
G/P : godly parent (for the sake of the story, please choose a G/P that might cause you to not have the desire to fight. Maybe Apollo for healing, Persephone for food, and others).
Alright, that's enough talking. Happy reading, loves <3
- Third Person's POV -
Nico had crazy insomnia. Not like he doesn't know it already, but it didn't seem like he wanted to do anything about it either.
His active nightmares after the war against Kronos haunted his nights, making him wake up in a cold sweat more than he could count.
Of course, after a trip to Tartarus, Nico was never the same again.
His awful sleep schedule now on the Argo II wasn't being much of a buddy. Nico would often have struggles in breathing, or even standing up.
The poor boy was as pale as a ghost, having migraine after migraine every day or so.
The only comfort he seemed to find in is you.
You were a useful asset to the Seven. They picked you up along their journey, taking into account your talent as a daughter of G/P.
You didn't mind staying behind in fights. Of course, you would worry a lot about your new friends. But seeing how trained they are in their combat skills, you knew they would be alright.
The Seven would often come back to the ship, greeted with a nice meal prepped by you or come see you with a gentle, sweet smile on your face to bandage their wounds up.
They appreciated your hospitality and saw you as their younger sister, especially since you were about Nico's age.
Nico, on the other hand, took quite a while to get used to your kindness.
You would often visit him throughout the nights, being there with a warm towel or a midnight snack.
That night was no different.
"Nightmare again?" your eyebrows furrowed in concern, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Nico snapped immediately, unable to control his raging emotions deep within. Why was he like this?
But you never walked away, and you weren't about to start now.
"Do you want me to stay?" you asked abruptly, making Nico's eyes widen slightly. "I'll sit by your bed, singing or reading or something. That way, you would have company until you fall asleep."
Nico snorted, "Will you even leave if I said no?"
"I suppose not," you chuckled, heading over to sit on the small chair beside Nico's bed, "May I?"
"Sure," Nico grumbled, turning on his side to face his back towards you, "Don't do anything weird, though."
For about an hour or two, you would talk and sing and crack jokes with Nico. Occasionally, he would smile and turn around to look up at you in amusement.
"You talk a lot," he noted. For the first time, there wasn't any malice or bitterness behind his voice.
"Only to you, I guess," you smiled, reaching forwards to gently brush some strands of hair out of Nico's face.
Nico's eyes began to drop. He had turned his whole body to face you now.
"I'm going to sleep now," he babbled softly, "Good night."
Before you could even respond, Nico was out.
Your heart beamed slightly. It felt nice to help someone out.
You gently tucked Nico into bed, pulling the blankets up to his neck to keep him from the cold.
The Argo II rocked slightly, the night peaceful as you sailed across the skies.
...
"Cuddle with me," Nico demanded with a pout, "Pretty please?"
Years had passed since the war against Gaea and the trip in the Argo II. Now, dating the Ghost King, you were entitled to give him daily cuddle sessions.
You secretly knew that his insomnia had improved, and that he didn't necessarily need you to sleep properly anymore.
However, you never seemed to mind. Truth be told, it felt nice to have someone to come home to. Was this what it felt like to be taken care of?
As you watched Nico set the bed with an excited gleam in his eye, you know. He loved you endlessly.
You smiled softly as Nico adjusted your favorite plushies on his cabin bed, taking great care in making them hug each other closely.
"Of course, my love," you whispered as you, once again, tucked yourself beside Nico into his bed.
His eyes widened in innocent delight and joy as he wrapped his arms tightly around you.
"I love you, by the way," Nico grinned and smushed his lips against your cheeks, "So, so much. Do you know that? I hope you know that."
"You talk a lot," you quipped, sneaking a cheeky peck onto Nico's nose.
"Only to you," Nico smiled happily, locking his eyes with the person he adored the most, "I guess."
A/N - I'm trying to limit my oneshots to a max of 500 words, but I don't think it's working very well.
You see, I have this tendency to spoil my readers with 700-word posts. Maybe even 1,200 - if I'm in the productive mood.
Comment down if you prefer longer or shorter oneshots! That would really help a girl out.
Another thing, some of you guys are still active in my Leo x Reader oneshot. While Nico x Reader is still popular on my page, it's nice to see my other works being thoroughly appreciated. Thanks, guys!
