A/N- does anybody else love that point at school where there's some but not too much schoolwork so that you'll still be able to work on your personal projects and feel busy and productive all at the same time?

Yeah, me too.

Anyway! This is a random idea that just popped into my head a few seconds ago. I'm running out of prompts, so I constantly have to immediately write the storyline out before I forget.

That's all from me. Enjoy!

- Third Person's POV -

You and Nico had something special, to say the least.

Sure, it was a cringy, cheesy, highschool love. But who could blame you? You were each other's bestest friend.

The romance and affection never truly left the air once the power couple walks into the room. Every camper would be giggling to themselves, amused how you could make Nico di Angelo ever so flustered, while he drives out the chatty side of you.

It was as if the two of you were meant to be, but neither of you ever took a step forward to start something beautiful.

Nico knew you had feelings for him, and he was certain he was head over heels in love with you.

But no, he couldn't ask you out yet. You were an ambitious girl, having loads of dreams and wishes for what you want to do in life. He shouldn't be dragging you down with him through a relationship, especially since he didn't have any extravagant desires of his own.

"Do you really think we'll make a cute couple?" Nico teased, trying to look at you casually, though nothing could extinguish the burning love in his eyes for you.

"Nah," you blushed. Once again, you failed to hide how delighted you look at the fact that people seem to think that you and Nico were a perfect match. "You're too stinky to be my boyfriend."

"Just so you know, I probably have the best hygiene amongst other campers here," Nico scoffed, playfully punching your arm. "I have half a mind to leave you here for that terrible insult to my well-being."

Despite his words, Nico gently took your hand in his, lacing your fingers together as he led you to his cabin.

Suddenly, on your way to the front door, a camper accidently knocked into you. He gasped, kneeling down to get his potted plants back onto the tray he was using to carry them on.

"I'm so sorry!" he looked up at you apologetically, "I wasn't properly focused on walking."

"It's alright, dude," you reassured your new friend, "What's your new name?"

"Daniel," he smiled awkwardly, shyly shaking your hand, "You must be Y/N."

You blinked in confusion, "How do you know that?"

Daniel chuckled and nodded his head over to Nico, who was standing grumpily beside you. "Your boyfriend's kinda famous here, you know," Daniel quipped.

"Oh no, we're not together," you rolled your eyes playfully and knelt down to help Daniel pick up a fragile succulent. "Demeter or Persephone?"

"Aphrodite, actually," Daniel blushed, gently tucking the plant into its pot. You only realized how the intricate details on the pot were handmade, all different and designed with love. "Doesn't really match with my interest, huh?"

"I think it's cute," you shrugged, making Nico huff even more. You snickered, looking over your shoulder at the red-face Nico, "What's gotten into you today, man?"

"Nothing," Nico said curtly, kneeling down beside you to help Daniel too. He made sure to purposefully graze his hand against yours multiple times.

"Do you guys want to come over to my garden?" Daniel asked brightly, pointing to a little patch of grass near the Aphrodite cabin, aligned with the prettiest flowers and trees. "I'll even let you two make a bouquet and everything."

"Did you hear that, Neeks?" you turned over to Nico excitedly, happily tugging on the sleeve of his arm, "Shall we join Dan?"

Nico grumbled at the sound of the nickname you gave this "Dan".

"We only just met the guy," Nico reminded you, whispering into your ear, "And aren't we supposed to play Mythomagic together?"

"We could do that any other time," you dismissed him immediately, your mind still on the pretty bouquet of flowers Daniel promised to allow you to make. "Besides, I've never gotten a bouquet of flowers before."

"You're not getting it either," Nico mumbled as you ignored him, standing up and joining Daniel to walk over to his garden. Nico followed the two of you, trailing behind. "It's not like he made it for you or anything."

Nico was wrong. Daniel later spent the next four hours teaching you how to make a bouquet of flowers, down to the meaning of each flower combination and how to wrap them up in delicate paper and ribbon.

Nico couldn't help but feel extremely jealous, the way that Daniel was talking so gently and so lovingly to you irritated him. What was his deal?

"Can you help me hold this, Neeks?" your voice broke Nico out of his trance. He immediately held his arms out, allowing you to place the bundle of flowers in his hold as you tied them all up with a blue ribbon.

You happily brought the bouquet back into your arms, inhaling the beautiful scent. Nico watched you carefully, his heart swelling with an unknown feeling.

"Thanks Dan," you whispered, looking over at him with a gentle gleam in your eyes, "It's perfect."

"Only the best for the best," Daniel teased, earning a disapproving look from Nico. "I'll see you later?"

"Yeah," you replied breathlessly, "Later."

Nico nodded politely at Daniel, who shot him a gleeful grin. He seemed oblivious to how Nico thought of him.

"Are we still hanging out in my cabin?" Nico looked over at you pleadingly, his heart falling as you shook your head.

"It's nearly dark," you pointed out, "We need to get back before Mr. D slices our throats."

"Right," Nico smiled weakly, "Let me walk you, then."

You reluctantly took his hand as Nico accompanied you back to your cabin. Once the two of you reached the front door, you turned around to smile at your best friend.

"Jealous?" you smirked.

Nico sputtered, unable to form any coherent words, "W-What do you mean?"

"You were glaring daggers at Daniel all day," you chidded, "Jealous?"

"No way," Nico immediately said, a bit too harshly than what he intended, "It's not like we're in love or anything."

The sight of your face falling made Nico's heart ache painfully. Did he say something wrong?

"Right," you forced a smile, turning on your heel to get through the door. "Goodnight, Nico."

Nico could swear he heard a choked sob behind your voice, making his chest feel so heavy.

"Yeah," Nico whispered, tears pricking the edge of his eyes, "Goodnight, Y/N."

A/N - I just finished my campaign for my school's Student Council program. I'm feeling a bit upset and absolutely terrified that I might lose.

I've been working on this for three years and dreamed of it for more. I'm scared that I might not get to become president, so a few words of encouragement would be nice :,)

Anyway, so sorry for the sappy closing. I just needed to get that off my chest.
