- Third Person's POV -
You were on a roll.
After working on the Student Council Organization for years, you finally had the chance to run for president.
You hung up posters, made speeches, and even posted campaign stuff on your social media.
Everyone viewed you as this bold, outspoken person. When on the inside, you felt like shying away.
It was only Nico that knew that you were an extremely introverted person at heart, being able to notice that this must be torture for you.
As your boyfriend, he made it his sole duty to cheer you on everyday.
But you were passionate, and that made everything okay.
"I wasn't wearing makeup in this one," you sulked, watching over another video of you posted by the school. "I look like a naked mole rat."
"More like a hamster," Nico hugged you from behind, hooking his chin over your shoulder as he whispered into your ear. "Cutie."
You sighed in defeat, leaning into his embrace as you turned around to face him. "What will I do without you?"
"You don't need me to do anything," Nico said gently, "I'm just here to support you, remember?"
Your heart melted as Nico gathered you up in his arms, cuddling up against a tree. "Thanks, love."
"Don't mention it," Nico whispered, eagerly rubbing his lips against your cheeks. "Pretty."
Nico rubbed the tip of his nose happily against yours, cooing at you affectionately.
You rolled your eyes playfully, tilting your head slightly for Nico to get a better angle. "You're so clingy."
"Just being your biggest fan," Nico pecked your forehead tenderly. "Now, don't you have a speech to get to?"
"Gods!" you cried, shooting upwards and bolted out to the other direction.
Nico laughed, shaking his head fondly as he chased after you, "Wait for me!"

It was the night before the announcement of the election results. And you were a mess.
"What if I lose?" you whined, burying your face into Nico's pillow as he giggled about. "Stop laughing at me!"
"You're adorable," Nico tucked you happily in his bed, absolutely delighted that you decided to spend the night in his dorm. "So precious."
"How are you so calm?" you glared up at Nico, who only smiled at you in return. "Aren't you scared your precious girlfriend will have all her dreams crushed?"
"Terrified," Nico replied casually, causing your jaw to drop.
When he saw your surprise expression, he continued, "What? Did you really think I'm a completely care-free guy? We've been dating for two years now, love. You should have known by now."
"Yeah, but you don't seem too worried this whole time," you glanced down at the shark plushie you bought for Nico for his birthday, still sitting in the middle of the bed. "I'm freaking out all by myself."
Truth be told, Nico might as well be freaking out as much as you.
He felt sick everytime he thought about the election announcements, needing to barf and getting lightheaded when he entertained the image too much.
He knew that you, obviously, were experiencing it yourself first-hand, so it must be harder for you.
And Nico didn't want to make things anymore difficult for you.
That was why he's been acting all sweet and clingy, more than how he would usually act. It was all to cheer you up and calm you down.
It wasn't even that bad. He enjoyed spoiling you, actually.
"Oh, cara mia," Nico whispered breathlessly, getting into bed with you. He gently smoothed your hair down, giving him a clear aim to press a tender kiss against the crown of your head. "You're alright. Everything's going to be all okay."
"Are you sure?" you asked weakly, looking up at Nico with those big, sweet eyes he adored. "Actually, don't answer that."
Nico chuckled, cuddling tightly against you as he cradled you to his chest. "Go to sleep, baby. Let tomorrow's burden be for tomorrow."
"Oh, fine," you grumbled, once again tucking yourself comfortably into Nico's arms. "Wake me up when the announcements are out."
"Only if I'm still awake, Y/N," Nico yawned sleepily, burying his face into your hair. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
Silence. Nico smiled softly. Maybe he was finally able to soothe your troubled soul.
Suddenly, you whispered into the dark. "I love you."
Midnight struck. From his nightstand table, Nico could hear your phone buzz with the election result announcements.
Neither of you even bothered to check, already too cozily melted in each other's embrace and warmth.
"I love you, too."
A/N - do any of you think it's cheesy that this oneshot collection is starting to be like my personal diary?
Like, almost all of my posts are inspired by real-life events.
Except for the boyfriend parts.
