A/N - hiya! Here's another short story to pass the time (and as an excuse not to do my assignments, lol).
I've always had this plot in the back of my head, but never really got to writing it down on paper.
P.S. Do you guys prefer if I give you guys a choice for your godly parent or leave it to me for the sake of the prompt?
That's all from me. Enjoy!
- Third Person's POV -
You were a young, aspiring photographer.
Your favorite thing of all time to do was to go into the streets and the dark alleyways, capturing the essence of life in all the places that people would never even think to look at.
It was a dream, a dream that you wished to never wake up from.
However, your nightmare was just beginning.
You wanted to get into art school for the longest of time, working here and there to earn enough money for your college fees.
But, even after years of pain and suffering, it still wasn't enough.
You started to lose hope for your dream ever coming true, eventually leading you to contemplate giving it up completely.
You were completely immersed in your thoughts when opportunity struck you in the face.
One day, you found a poster stuck to the wall of a subway that would change your life forever.
It was a photography contest with a thick cash prize awaiting for you at the top place.
This could give you a headstart to start off your art journey for university.
You immediately scanned the QR code for registrations and signed up before the time runs out.
After hitting send, your heart soared.
This was it. This was your chance for something great.
Day and night, you brainstormed ideas for your entry.
The prompt was "capturing beauty in the darkest of times".
It was super general, but that made it all the harder. The prompt allowed artists and photographers all over the globe to revise the idea into their own. Who is there to say which is the most creative?
You were running out of time as the weeks flew by. Soon enough, you only had a few days left before the competition closed their submission form.
This was a mistake. You shouldn't have ever allowed yourself to hope, to dream.
In these times of despair, you decided to do one good thing for yourself to calm all the nerves down.
You picked up your coat and camera, then went out.
Just like how you used to do, you walked towards and into unknown streets and alleyways, taking pictures of plants, pedestrians, and sometimes adorable creatures.
Suddenly, you noticed that there was a hidden crack in the wall. It branched out to a hole that was big enough for you to crawl into.
Going through the secret passage, you saw a wide-open, beautiful field.
You laughed and whooped out freely. Was this what joy felt like?
As you were twirling around and feeling like a total princess, you tripped and fell face-first into something soft.
You groaned in pain, opening your eyes hesitantly to see dark ones looking back into your own.
That's when you realized you had fallen into the arms of the most beautiful boy you have ever seen. His cheeks turned a rosy shade of pink as you seemed to be unable to pull your gaze away from his face.
"Hi," he whispered.
"Hey," you replied softly back. "You're beautiful."
"Thank you," the boy smiled shyly, "You're ethereal."
That's when you noticed a notebook that was lying on the ground, open for all the world to see. Inside its exposed pages, you saw poems and songs that were gorgeously written by the boy. Below every one of them, he had signed them off himself.
Nico di Angelo.
"Nico," you looked back at him breathlessly. "I'm Y/N, and how would you like to be my muse?"
Nico smiled, "Sure, Y/N," he tested your name out on his lips, as if it were the most sacred thing to say, "I would love to."
A/N - I've had a pretty rough day, so writing this was able to give me some moment of peace.
I don't know if my stories could take me too far into life, but I do enjoy seeing all your positive comments in every upload. They really encourage the little author in me to keep trying <3
And I think I'm getting better (?) idk tho
