A/N - this oneshot might not be for everyone. But personally, I find it really cute :)

Happy reading!

- Third Person's POV -

You and Nico had just gotten into a huge argument.

It started off as a little debate. However, words that neither of you actually mean escaped from your lips. From that, the two of you decided to take some time off each other. Maybe a day or two could fix what was broken.

You had been dating Nico for a few years now, and lived in the same dorm building for college. Funnily enough, your dorm was situated directly in front of Nico's.

That night, Nico cried and sobbed into his pillow, wailing in agony as he remembered all the terrible things he said to you.

It was dark, his room empty and cold.

He never felt so alone.

Nico was laying on his bed, knees pulled to his chest, hands tangled in his hair, as the first sobs broke through.

He dreaded the next day without you by his side. Nico would have to act as if it was a completely normal day and that everything was fine.

But you weren't with him.

It was awful. Nico hugged your duck plushie tightly to his chest, shutting his eyes and trying his best to get some sleep.

He could still remember how much you loved that duck.

Nico had won it for you at a fair a few years back, and you loved it ever since.

The sight of it always made him smile, whenever you held it and hugged it in your arms.

This time, the sight of it made him cry even harder.

He wanted to hold you, to kiss you, to hear your voice, just anything to remind him of you, to be with you, even if it was so close yet so far.

In the morning, when the sun was barely visible through the window, Nico silently crept out of bed.

He'd been up all night, unable to sleep.

Nico woke up early to gather a fresh bouquet of flowers and set it at your door, watching from afar. He knew you needed space for the time being, but this was Nico's way of still expressing his love and affection for you.

Soft, white tulips were arranged together in a cute basket and placed carefully against your door. Nico took a moment to look it over.

It was supposed to be a surprise, so he couldn't risk getting caught.

Nico stood up and retreated, hiding in the shadows.

His heart melted when you came out, cracking a soft and fond smile. You looked around curiously, having a guess who the mysterious gift might be from.

You pressed your nose tenderly against the petals, smiling lovingly at the thought of your darling.

Nico watched you from the shadows, the ache in his heart easing just a little when he saw your smile.

It was only a small smile, but it was enough.

Nico wanted to hold you, to shower you with loving gifts, to hear you laugh once again and fill his days with your gentle smiles.

Your soft expression as you pressed your nose gently against the white tulips left no question about what you were thinking.

Nico knew how much you loved the little white tulips.

For the rest of the day, Nico kept giving you gifts and doing all sorts of things.

It was the little things.

He snuck off to buy you your favorite pastries in the middle of lectures.

He left you a necklace he knew you'd like in your room where you were out for the day: purple, diamond butterflies on a thin chain.

Every gift, every gesture, was a silent attempt to get you to hold him again. Nico couldn't wait any longer, even if it's been less than a day being apart from you.

Every smile, every glimmer in your eyes, was worth it. It was worth the world to him.

He was so desperate for those smiles.

For every moment Nico could see you happy, he'd do anything.

Nico was hopelessly, desperately in love.

He'd already been so lost without you, now only being able to watch from a distance and silently adoring you, quietly doing everything that he could. Just for you.

He'd never get tired of it. Never.

Luckily, Nico didn't have to wait any longer.

The night right after your argument, you were feeling better.

You knocked on Nico's dorm door, in which he opened excitedly.

Without a word, Nico picked you up in his arms, closing the door, and walking towards the bed to tuck you comfortably under the sheets.

"I love you," Nico whispered, pressing a tender kiss against your cheeks and forehead, "I'm sorry."

"No," you replied softly, "I'm sorry. I love you, too."

The day ended with cuddles and happy head pats.

A/N - honestly, I really love it when people give me space to think after an argument. It prevents me from hurting my loved ones any further, and I could stabilize my emotions again for the sake of my own well-being.

And so, this little prompt was born.

That's all I have for you guys this week! See you next time.
