A/N - hey ya'll! This is my first oneshot that I'll be writing during the holidays as to build up my stock before the school year begins.
Don't forget to keep those requests coming in! We only have about 30 slots left before this oneshot collection book reaches its 200 chapter limit <3
Without any further ado, let's get right into the story.
Enjoy!
- Third Person's POV -
You were at a highschool party with your best friend. Nico di Angelo.
As all the stupid romance stories would start off, Nico has a painfully obvious crush on you.
However, just like any gullible main character that you were, Y/N was the only one who was innocently oblivious to his feelings.
"That guy is cute," you giggled, whispering and pointing at a tall, blonde dude in a purple shirt. "I'm going to talk to him. Cover for me in case the others try to check up on me, yeah?"
Nico rolled his eyes and scoffed, "Yeah, cute. Real cute."
You huffed in exasperation, gently tugging at Nico's sleeve. "Come on, Neeks. Just this once, please?"
The poor boy knew he would never, ever be able to resist those sweet eyes of yours.
"Alright, but you owe me."
With a sigh, he nodded as he watched you trail away, his heart aching slightly as you grinned at the dude.
Gods, he wishes you could look at him like that.
The next day, you and Nico were hanging out as always. Though he was dying to ask you how did it go last night, Nico kept his lips sealed.
Nico was back to his normal, chill self as he spent the day with you.
He was determined not to let his feelings get in the way today, pushing down his jealousy over your potentially-new boyfriend.
He had you all to himself today. That was enough. He didn't need to hold you in his arms or kiss you like he really wanted.
This was enough.
"Ew, barf! Don't you dare make me eat that," you seethed at the sight of L/FF. "It reeks!"
"Oh, come on," Nico smirked and pushed a plate closer to you. "It's healthy."
You groaned grudgingly as you took a nasty bite. "I hate you."
"Nah, you love me."
Nico's smirk grew a bit wider as he chuckled at your expression.
It was just so you. Always stubborn and defiant about the most inane things.
He reached over and ruffled your hair affectionately, his smile genuine. "Now, eat up."
You grumbled playfully, "You're lucky you're my bestest friend, or I would have ripped your head off."
Nico's eyes softened as he watched you reluctantly accept the food, a little burst of affection warming his heart. It was moments like this that made him forget you weren't actually his. For just a little while, it was all bliss.
"Don't threaten me, you brat." Nico teased lightly.
At the insult, you shot a stern glare at Nico.
"Right. Shutting up," he mumbled, raising his hands in surrender.
- - -
Nico visited you in the computer room at school, noticing that the same guy you were talkng to the other night was leaning over your shoulder.
You were practicing your editing skills, having the dude help you out and give you advice on how to make your work better.
Shortly after and much to Nico's surprise, the boy left and went over to hang out with his buddies.
Now, it was just you and Nico in the room. In the comfortable silence, Nico could help but feel his heart flutter.
It was a simple thing, though it didn't stop Nico from being so proud of you doing the things you loved doing. Your passion for film and the stories you wanted to tell - he would have sat there for hours just watching you work.
He took a step forward to stand behind you, leaning over slightly.
"Looks good," he nodded in approval.
You yelped in surprise and smacked his arm. "Nico!"
"Ow-"
Nico's hand immediately went to rub his sore arm as he shot you a look of mock betrayal.
"You didn' have to hit me," he whined, "That hurt, you know?"
You cackled and swatted his arm again, this time much more gently. "Serves you right. You scared me!"
"Hey!" Nico laughed. "You're so mean to me."
After joking around for a good minute, Nico decided to ask the big question.
"So," he started awkwardly, "How are you and the guy doing?"
"Oh, you blushed in embarrassment, "We didn't connect with each other very well. Plus, he's three years older than me."
Nico raised an eyebrow, "You're not into older guys?"
"I like to be with people who's more my age, just for bonding reasons," you explained, "Besides, he seems more of an excellent tutor rather than a good boyfriend. I kinda got the ick when he refused to cut his nails."
Nico had to strain himself in order not to breathe a sigh of relief in front of you, not wanting you to see how happy he was that he still had another chance with you.
"We're still hanging out later?" Nico asked again. This time, his smile was much more giddy.
"Of course," you grinned back, hooking your arm with his, "Come on, let's get to class."
A/N - this was sort of a filler chapter since I was just grouping a bunch of ideas into one.
But hey, it's life! Not everyday is a huge roller coaster filled with complex storylines.
That's all I have for you guys this week.
