Alright, that's all that I have for you. Enjoy!
Godly Parent: Aphrodite
- Third Person's POV -
You were extremely, very popular in Camp Half-Blood.
Of course, popularity like that should come naturally to you.
As the daughter of Aphrodite, you had the beauty of the love goddess. Everywhere you went, heads would be turning and boys would be drooling.
Rumor has it that you've never been properly in love with anyone. But what would they know about you?
Truth be told, you adored all the attention. You loved it when everyone had their eyes on you, and you especially enjoyed how all the boys would be grovelling on the ground for your attention.
It's not like you were playing with their hearts. You've rejected them plenty of times. It's their fault for never knowing when to give up in their pursuit of you.
At the very first few weeks of your arrival, it was only Nico that could tolerate your behavior.
He found it amusing, seeing you delighted by all the attention and by the spotlight that was set on you.
Nico never minded that you soon began to have more friends other than him. In fact, it was Nico that encouraged you to use your "loving smile" to win hearts.
However, everyone else could tell that you were a genuinely nice person who just likes the attention.
You found it cute how the guys' sweet, innocent faces would be eagerly trying to make you smile.
Every time you notice a guy being heartbroken over you, you would gently help them move on. It was very kind of you, eventually leading you to have little enemies in camp.
You never flirted, never played, and never stole someone's boyfriend. You simply stayed true to yourself, which made you adorably loveable to all.
Obviously, your loving personality won't last with guys who are actual jerks.
Kyle was your best friend even before the moment you stepped onto the grounds of Camp Half-Blood. He was your childhood buddy, to say the least.
The two of you practically grew up together, even before all this hustle and bustle in the world of demigods and magic.
Nevertheless, you could tell almost immediately that he was just sticking by your side to make you fall in love with him.
But, being the naive little thing that you were, you didn't mind it. As long as Kyle didn't do anything stupid, you were fine staying friends with him.
That was your mistake.
After months of showing no signs of interest in Kyle, he began to grow even more aggravated and impatient.
"Aren't we ever going to spend alone time with each other?" he grumbled one day, as you were hanging out with a group of friends. "You don't always have to invite other people when we're together."
You frowned, "What's wrong with inviting my friends?"
"Nothing," Kyle huffed, looking away in annoyance, "I just don't like the amount of guys you're associating yourself with."
Nico locked eyes with you and rolled your eyes. He mouthed the words, "What the heck?"
Before you know it, Kyle was starting to get more aggressive with you. He snapped at you easily during the whole conversation, and often pulled your hand closer whenever you got too far away.
Finally, Kyle began picking up a fight with one of the dudes who obviously had a crush on you too.
The two guys began fist-fighting, throwing punches as they did with their corny insults.
You rolled your eyes at all the action, feeling a tad bit annoyed than how you usually would feel when there were boys fighting over you.
Having them getting jealous when you gave more attention to the other was cute, but a physical fight?
Gross.
You've always known that Kyle would end up like this, and it certainly wasn't the first time he acted up.
In the midst of your frustration, Nico snuck behind the couch you were sitting on. He grinned, leaning over to whisper into your ear.
"Let's get out of here, Ms. Popular" he pecked your cheek.
You blushed, looking away shyly.
"Yes, please," you whispered back in response.
That was your big secret.
The only boy you've ever been truly, genuinely in love with was Nico di Angelo.
A/N - like it? This was inspired by a real story, actually (though most of the scenes were made to be overly-dramatic for the plot).
But hey, as long as it could be made into a comedic-romance source of entertainment, why not?
I just realized a few days ago that we've surpassed 48k reads! Great job, gang!
Once again, thanks for all your love and support for this oneshot collection <3 Can't wait to show you guys what I've been working on soon.
