Godly Parent: Aphrodite

- Third Person's POV -

You, Y/N L/N, had grown to have an awful reputation of being the darn player in Camp Half-Blood.

To think that your own mother was the embodiment of all things loved, and yet you were incapable of showing your so-called significant other true, faithful affection.

Even so, your brothers and sisters I'd nothing to stop your little addiction. After all, it wasn't like most of them could keep up a healthy relationship for very long either.

It wasn't like you were planning to either. You kinda enjoyed the thrill of seeing how long they'll last.

However, your little stock of boyfriends surprisingly never ran out. You thought that maybe, just maybe, the men of camp would have learned their lesson from thir friends and avoid you at all cost.

But nope, they would always find excuses to justify their attempts to pine over you and try to win you over. "I can change her" was a popular phrase to be heard between your relationships.

Bummer.

"This is getting stupid, Y/N," Piper scolded grumpily, tugging slightly at your braid, "Think of all the broken hearts you've cause. Don't you feel a tiny bit bad for them?"

"Well..."

"Don't listen to her, sis," Drew scoffed, folding her arms and glaring at Piper, "She's just saying that because her boyfriend's all pretty and perfect."

Piper rolled her eyes, though her face was a deep shade of magenta, "What's that got to do with anything?"

"She's got a point, though," you agreed with Drew, much to Piper's surprise, "All the good guys have been taken. Is it so wrong to break the hearts of those who don't even have hearts to begin with?"

Drew bursted into a fit of laughter, giggling her butt off. Piper, on the other hand, did not find you clever joke to be very funny.

"This is serious, Y/N," Piper told you firmly, "Peter Johnson? Chris Stone? Freaking Connor Stoll? They're lovely guys, and you know it."

You fell quiet, silently remembering their pained expressions when you ended everything between the two of you. Come to think of it, they've never treated you badly nor have done you any wrong.

"I'm going out for a walk," you announced, getting up and walking out the door, "I need to clear my head."

You headed over to a little spot we're a tall tree grew next to a large rock. It created a sort of couch that was extremely comfortable to rest on.

You sighed, glancing up at the setting sun. This could have been such a romantic spot. That is, if you had someone to share it with.

"Hey," a gruff voice came out from the shadows, "You're sitting in my spot."

You looked curiously over your shoulder, your eyes falling on a boy: Nico di Angelo.

Ah, yes. You've heard all about him. Hero of Olympus, King of Ghosts, and the Emo Lord.

By the gods, he was exactly how you imagined him to be. His hair was unruly, his clothes old, and had a mysterious vibe about him.

This would be fun.

You raised an eyebrow, "Um? No. I've always sat here, thank you very much."

Nico hesitated, glancing up at your soft eyelashes and how your hair fell gently around your shoulders.

Pretty, he thought.

"Fine," he muttered, scooting over to sit at a bent part of the tree trunk, "As long as I still get to hang out here."

And boy, did he.

You decided that this would be your last game. Your last play, before you finally stop your reign. And Nico was the ultimate target.

Imagine, challenging the dark and secretive demigod that everyone feared, just for him to fall lovesick against your feet. It was all very exciting.

Nico, sadly, was blind to the traps you were setting up for him. He fell deeper and deeper in love with the girl he found to be angelically beautiful.

How was he supposed to resist? He had thought that he had found everything he wanted. You were gentle, kind, and loving. You treated him with such tender care that he has been starved of for many years of his life.

And the poor guy had no idea that your entire relationship with him was a lie.

He tried his best to be the best boyfriend you deserved. Despite Nico's best efforts, he always felt like there was a gap between the two of you.

Finally, one day, he decided to meet up with you for a date at your spot.

"I got you something, love," Nico whispered, handing you a small box shyly.

You had to bow your head slightly to hide the knowing smirk etched on your face. Oh, he was smitten.

"Don't tell me you're going to propose, darling," you joked, opening the box with a slight chuckle.

Your jaw dropped and your eyes snapped wide open as you glanced down at the priceless piece of jewelry that Nico gifted into your hands.

A darry ring.

"Take it as a promise ring," Nico blushed furiously, his voice cracking slightly as he gathered you into his arms, "That we'll have a future together, one day."

"Nico, I can't accept this," you blurted out, desperately trying to hand back the box to him, "You can't be that serious about me."

"Y/N, I know about what you've done," Nico smiled softly, "Connor told me everything."

"Then why? Why would you do something so big, so important like this?"

"There's a reason why so many guys are willing to take the risk with you, Y/N," Nico mumbled against your hair, holding onto you tightly, "You're special. That's all there is to it."

Once again, you fell silent. Maybe, just maybe, you could still live up to what you were meant to do: love.

"Thank you, it's beautiful," you whispered, tucking your head comfortably under Nico's chin, "I love you, I'm sorry."

Your eyes welled with tears as Nico slid the sign of promise onto your your finger, allowing him to gently kiss your cheeks as he hugged you.

"And I'm ready to love you. With all my heart."

A/N - Like it? It's a happy ending, just for you guys!

I might go back to writing angst though, so don't stay too comfortable >:D

If you don't know what a darry ring is, it's a sort of ring that you could only get once in your life. And Nico decided to give it to you :)

Also, getting notifications of your comments from my older one shots are hilarious.

Looking back now, I think my writing style really did change.
