A/N - Another cheesy title yippee!
hello!! Back again with a cute, little post. This time, we're all about happiness and fluff :D
Don't worry, we'll get right back into my angsty phase soon!
Alright, enough talking. Happy reading!
- Third Person's POV -
Being married to Nico di Angelo had its perks.
For one, he would always, always make sure to come home from work with just enough time to cuddle with you before going to sleep. He swore to you that you will never drift to dreamland alone.
For two, he would point at random things, saying that it represented the two of you. He once showed you a video of two cats cuddling, and smiled when he told you it reminded him of your love.
For three, he always bragged to everyone about how your relationship with him was built into a beautiful story.
You see, Nico has never really believed in love at first sight.
All those cheesy, romcom movies you would watch with him were solely for entertainment. But in reality, Nico thought it was rubbish.
"Do you remember how we met, love?" Nico asked when the two main characters kissed on screen, "You and I were paired together for a mission by Chiron. Then-"
"You realized you had developed feelings for me because you can't imagine it being anyone else," you recited teasingly, knowing exactly what he was going to say before the words even poured out from his lips, "I know. You kept telling everyone the same story."
"Of course," Nico chuckled, turning the TV off as he wrapped his arms cozily around you in bed, "It took me two whole years to ask you out, by the way. Because I wanted our friendship to bloom first before we took on something serious."
"What a gentleman," you swooned dramatically, making Nico burst into a fit of laughter.
"I'm being for real, though," Nico nipped at your ears playfully, earning a surprised gasp out of you, "Once I made my mind, it was impossible for me to change it."
"As a daughter of Aphrodite," you smirked, "I do believe in love at first sight. It just happens differently at different times for everyone. Maybe you still haven't had yours, then."
"It's not exactly the 'first' sight now, is it?" Nico mumbled, pouting slightly as he hid his face into the crook of your neck, "How am I supposed to prove that I love you when you believe such a thing?"
You rolled your eyes fondly, petting Nico's hair and playing with his locks as you whispered, "You don't have to prove anything to me, darling. Trust me, I just know that the day will come soon."
And oh, how it did.
You had just given birth to a baby girl, Bianca. Nico was over the moon when the doctors told the two of you that you were allowed to go home.
However, it took you a whole hour to convince him to leave the house and go to work.
"Make lots of money, okay?" you joked as you helped Nico with his tie, "Bianca needs lots and lots of baby diapers. And I need you to feed my growing list of hobbies."
"Okay, okay," Nico pressed a tender kiss against your forehead and an even softer one against the cheek of your newborn baby girl, "Love you lots and lots. I'll bring take-out for dinner when I get home. Is McDonalds okay?"
"Sure," you chuckled and pushed him out the door, "Out!"
~ time skip ~
It had been a few hours since Nico left the house. It was now 11.00 pm, and the man was racing through the streets to get back home to you and his daughter.
He happily unlocked the door and walked straight up to the bedroom, ready to greet you with a usual kiss.
Nico stopped short when he saw you lying down, your back to the door as Bianca babbled in your arms.
"Your father's missing out on all the fun, is he?" you whispered as you cradled Bianca closer, "He can't hear all the gossip you're telling me."
"Ba-ba," Bianca said seriously, as if sharing you a valuable piece of information.
"Okay, love," you giggled, kissing her cheek, "I'll keep that a secret."
Nico's heart thumped rapidly, heat rushing to his cheeks.
You were beautiful, an angel gifted from the heavens.
You were in your pajama tee and shorts, your hair bundled up into a hairstyle of who knows what it's called.
But gods, how he loved you. How he loved having a family with you. How he loved growing old with you. How he loved coming back home to you every single day.
Nico smiled, knowing what this feeling of a rush and excitement is.
It was love at first sight.
A/N - Do you know that one shots are supposed to be only 100 - 500 words?
Yeah, not going to happen.
This alone was over 800 words.
But hey, it's great practice for when I actually write my book! (I'm still in the process of planning and drafting lol).
Once again, thanks for stopping by. See you next week!
