A/N - hey ya'll! Just wanted to remind you that I am constantly being overflood with waves of requests every week!

While I do LOVE writing your prompts, you have to be patient with me because there is a LONG line of drafts that I still need to post.

So if you haven't seen your request being uploaded yet, there is a good chance that it's still in my drafts.

Even now, I only have about two more requests to work on.

With that being said, here is a new story for you. Enjoy!

- Third Person's POV -

Camp Half-Blood was hosting a summer festival, pulsing with laughter and music.

However, in the midst of fun and excitement, Nico barely noticed.

He stood at the edge of the crowd, scanning faces, waiting.

His palms were sweaty — ridiculous for someone who'd faced harder battles than talking to a girl.

Then he saw you.

You weaved through the lantern-lit crowd with easy grace, wearing a light blue dress that floated like mist around you. Nico's heart stumbled over itself.

"You actually came," he said when you reached him, smiling that shy, crooked smile.

"Of course," you said, bumping your shoulder gently into his. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."

The words hit harder than they should have. Nico had spent years telling himself he didn't deserve things like this — like you.

"You look..." he trailed off, scratching the back of his neck.

"Awkward?" you teased.

He chuckled. "I was going to say beautiful. But, you know, awkward fits too."

You laughed, bright and genuine, and something eased in Nico's chest.

It was the first time the two of you decided to go out together.

After the terrible wars you've gone through against Kronos and Gaea, Nico has decided to take one step further into your relationship.

He professed his love to you in such a sweet manner, inviting you to be his date for the night.

The two of you wandered from the noise to the outskirts of the festival, to the tall oak tree by the river.

Its dark green leaves whispered against the night sky, a secret world made just for two.

You plopped down first, smoothing the grass beside you.

"Sit," you said, patting the spot.

Nico obeyed, pulling his knees up and resting his arms across them.

For a moment, neither of you spoke. The lake glittered with reflections of the lanterns, and the warm air smelled faintly of honeysuckle and strawberries.

"I was worried you wouldn't want to see me," Nico finally said, voice low. "Especially since I asked you out so suddenly."

You tilted your head. "Why would you think that?"

He stared at the dark water. "Because dating the son of Hades doesn't typically come with... happy endings."

You reached out, fingers brushing lightly over his scarred knuckles.

"Maybe I'm not looking for perfect endings," you said softly. "Maybe I'm just looking for you."

The night shifted around you, a breathless pause.

"You mean that?" Nico asked, almost whispering.

You nodded, your fingers threading between his. "I mean it."

He squeezed your hand like he needed the contact to ground him.

"You scare the hell out of me, Y/N," Nico said with a crooked grin. "You make me want things I thought I couldn't have."

You laughed, but it was a little shaky. "Like what?"

"Like a future," he said. "Like... waking up and not being afraid."

You leaned closer, your forehead resting lightly against his.

"Then let's be scared together," you whispered. "I'm not going anywhere."

The dam broke inside him — years of loneliness, of pushing people away, of convincing himself he was too broken to be loved. You shattered all of it with a touch, a word, a promise.

"I'm not good with this kind of thing," he said roughly, pulling back just enough to look into your eyes. "I might mess it up."

"Then we'll mess it up together," you said, smiling through the sting in your eyes. "I'm game as long as you're there."

Slowly, like the earth itself was holding its breath, Nico leaned in.

When your lips met, it was clumsy and sweet, like a little laugh, a soft gasp. He tasted like mint and something warm and electric, like the first summer storm.

His hand cupped your cheek, hesitant at first, then firmer when you didn't pull away. The kiss deepened, and the world spun on its axis, settling into place like it had always meant to.

When you finally broke apart, he rested his forehead against yours again, eyes closed.

"I'm serious," he murmured. "You're my whole world now."

You smiled, tears slipping free even as you laughed.

"Good," you said. "Because you're mine too."

Above you, the oak tree whispered in the warm wind, wrapping the two of you in a cocoon of dark green leaves and starlight — a promise whispered between two hearts that had finally, finally found home.
