AN - anddd we're back at writing the good, old-fashioned one shots!

After a while of deep-writing that super long series, I think we all could use a little refreshment and have a silly, little story of you and your love.

This oneshot is inspired by @only_for_the_food's comment - "oh, okay. not what i thought then. i was already imagining nico discovering that meme and CONSTANTLY repeating it."

- Third Person's POV -

Having Nico di Angelo as your boyfriend may seem cool and mysterious. But really, he was just one, big marshmallow and an absolutely puppy.

He would follow you around camp, simply trailing after your wake as he silently begged for your attention.

Yes, he would walk around in his aviator's jacket and with a dark, cold stare. But that was only what everyone else saw.

When it was just the two of you alone, his eyes would immediately melt into mush, his clingy side showing through as he cuddled up against you happily.

Poor Nico wasn't exactly like the typical sort of teenage boy that you would see everyday.

Though the only thing that made him fit into the group was the need to explore the world on his own and to accept the affection and care from his love.

Another favorite thing of yours about dating Nico was how clueless he was to the modern world.

Of course, he had some time exploring everything on his own before he dated you, but there was still so much to learn and so little time.

You had given him a phone on Nico's birthday that you specifically asked Leo to make without its signals triggering any monster attacks. (A/N - ik it doesn't work that way, but let's just roll with it. Aye?)

It warmed your heart to see Nico every night or tucked beside you in bed during sleepovers, happily scrolling through his new device and showing you every single new feature he comes across with.

Of course, you didn't allow him to get too addicted to his new toy.

You decided to set up a date in the following week just to spend time with him.

So, one day, you managed to get Chiron's permission for a few hours outside of camp.

You surprised Nico at his door, wearing a sweater that you stole from him and some cargo pants, knowing how much he liked seeing you in his clothes.

"This is fantastic!" Nico said in a funny tone.

You raised an eyebrow. Where have you heard that before?

"Come on," you smiled, lacing your fingers through Nico's, "I've a whole date planned for us."

Though Nico was still his usual, dorky self, it baffled you to hear how much he was using the word "fantastic" - especially through that specific phrase.

You left him at the café, telling him to wait for a minute as you ran to a small, nearby flower shop.

You bought his favorite, Lilies, and went back to the café.

Nico's head perked up in curiosity, his eyes drawing to the bouquet you were holding.

"Did you buy those yourself?" Nico's face fell slightly, "I'm sorry, darling. I didn't see the flower shop a-and I should have-"

"No, love. These are for you," you laughed, handing him the token of your love. All of the sudden, you got rather shy. "What do you think?"

Nico had mentioned the other day that he never, ever received flowers in his life. You thought that this would be a great day to change that.

"This... This is..." Nico ducked his head, hiding the goofy smile you know and love.

You finally realized where Nico had learned his fancy new words.

Perhaps his hours scrolling on the phone had caused him to discover the realm of the memes, now causing him to constantly repeat it.

That's cute.

"Fantastic?" you chuckled.

"Yeah," Nico said breathlessly, gently pulling you close into a soft, tender kiss. "Fantastic."
