A/N - hey, Happy Chinese New Year ya'll!

As someone who has Chinese ancestry myself, it really is a holiday worth celebrating with all its food.

And most importantly, the money >:)

Alright, that's all from me!

Enjoy <33

- Third Person's POV -

During the first few months when you first started dating Nico di Angelo, he made sure to be such a gentleman when meeting your parents and family for the first time.

They absolutely loved him. He was a sweet, kind, and polite boy who loved to help out around in household chores.

Your parents could see that he was a patient, young man who loved you dearly.

And when the time came, they invited your boyfriend over to celebrate Chinese New Year together.

Nico was awfully nervous, always glancing at the large mirror that hung on your apartment wall that you shared together.

"Do I look alright?" Nico asked, tugging awkwardly at his collar, "Am I supposed to use something fancier I-I don't think this shirt cuts out to be-"

"No, love," you smiled softly, gently kissing his cheeks as you neatened up his hair, "You look wonderful."

Nico blushed, his flushed cheeks matching his red shirt perfectly.

"Besides," you continued, looking at the mirror yourself to check out your hair, "My family isn't all that formal. Relax."

During the car ride to your grandparents' house, you rehearsed with Nico on what to call each of your family members. Gods, the way his hands sweated around the steering wheel made you giggle slightly.

Nico sat down at the living room after shaking hands with all the elders in your family, their expressions softening when they realized how polite of a boy Nico was.

"You made a fine choice, Y/N," your aunt chuckled, patting you heartily on the back.

"Thanks," you mumbled, loud enough for Nico to hear, "For the new bruise."

Nico smiled, looking at all the lovely people gathered around in the house. Sure, he felt terribly out of place.

But gosh, it felt so nice to be part of a family.

Finally, it was time to receive those treasured angpao.

You had mentioned this before during the car ride to your grandparents' house, and Nico's heart melted at the sight of little children going up to their (married) loved ones as they handed out small, red envelopes.

One day, when he was finally married to you, Nico couldn't wait to take part in the festivities. Just like how the other grown-ups did.

He watched as you greeted your Grandma, bowing your head down slightly before thanking her for the gift.

You walked over back to Nico, smirking slightly as you nudged his arm, "Your turn."

"W-What?" he whispered frantically as you gently tugged him towards your parents, who looked at him with firm gazes, "Y/N!"

"No need to be so scared, son," your father jokes, but his face was still held strong, "Except if you're planning something else?"

"Of course not, sir," Nico bowed his head, feeling comforted as you held onto his shoulder, "I would never."

His eyes widened when your mother handed him the same red envelope all the other children had gotten.

"Just until you get married with Y/N," your mother smiled, amused at Nico's surprised expression, "You're still going to be considered a child. That way, you still get angpao."

"Not a bad source of income, eh?" you laughed.

Nico was mesmerized through the whole ride back home. He kept glancing at the three envelopes that were given by your parents, grandparents, and your favorite aunt and uncle.

Even after you got out of the shower, Nico was in his pajamas and still admiring the pretty designs on the traditional red background, crawling absentmindedly under the sheets.

He smiled shyly as he caught your teasing eye, gesturing you to sit in front of him in bed as he helped you dry your hair.

"Thanks for bringing me to your family gathering today, Y/N," Nico whispered into your ear, somehow miraculously reaching your range of hearing over the blaring blasts of the hairdryer.

"It was my pleasure, darling," you gently kissed his forehead, "Now, let's just finish up quickly and get right into cuddling. I'm exhausted."

"Whatever you say goes, my love," Nico laughed as he dried the last parts of your hair, moving over to tuck you against his chest under the sheets.

Silence. Perhaps Nico was already asleep?

"We should get married quickly," Nico grinned, looking down at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes, "So you could stop living in the luxury of getting money every year from your dear parents. It's good to give, you know."

"Nico!"

A/N - dw, you got married with the guy anyway. And boy, was it tough on you as you gave out your first angpao to your nephews and nieces.

So sorry that this one shot came out two weeks later than it should, I already have about 10+ drafts piling up and I need to get them posted!

Also, I think I might have taken some of your requests way too seriously since some of you might be getting multiple-part series instead of one, singular one shot.

Boy, I'm just yapping at this point.
