A/N - hii I just realized that I've always been writing Y/N and Nico to be the same age.

So, in this oneshot, we'll go into something a little bit different.

Enjoy!

- Third Person's POV -

Nico was two years older than you and only a grade higher, which meant that you were the youngest in your class.

He was a cool senior in his last year of highschool. Tall, cool, and mysterious, he's got the vibe of a gangster.

Sweet.

All your friends knew that you had a big, fat crush on him. That so-called rumor spread like wildfire ever since you've admitted to the fact three years ago.

Back then, Nico was quite hesitant to respond to the matter at all. He used to see you as this stranger that he couldn't be bothered to talk to.

But seeing you now, still as charming as ever, has thawed the ice in his cold heart.

Nico is now very fond of you, always helping you with your projects and tutoring you in the lessons that you couldn't understand.

So far, he hasn't said anything that could make you sure of his reciprocated feelings towards you.

Truth be told, Nico still couldn't believe that you would like a guy like him. Your guy classmates were so much cooler (and taller) and had a closer relationship with you.

Why on earth would you make your life even more difficult with a guy you had a slim chance of talking to everyday?

But still, Nico made time for you. As the two semesters passed, he began to grow more confident for what he felt for you.

Love.

It was so weird, especially since he's seen you as someone he's got to protect at all times as someone who is older and stronger.

He remembered that during field trips in Elementary school, Nico would insist on being your travel buddy because you were so small and tiny.

Now, this protective feeling isn't just about guarding you anymore.

It's about treating you like a princess.

Nico was given his next opportunity to impress you when the teachers announced for another school trip in the last week of school.

As usual, he walked up to one of the teachers to sign up to be your travel buddy.

"I'm sorry, Mr. di Angelo," the teacher gave him a weak smile, "Mr. Anderson requested the role to be Y/N's travel buddy first."

Nico frowned, stealing a little peek into your classroom. His heart ached with jealousy to see that you were laughing with a tall, blonde dude.

Just perfect.

On the day of the trip, Nico had to sit in the row behind you during the bus ride. He felt an odd, twisting sensation in his stomach as he watched you laugh and joke with Jacob Anderson.

He didn't even pay attention to Leo, who offered to be his travel buddy since Piper and Jason were together anyways.

"Does she even know I'm here?" Nico grumbled under his breath.

Leo looked up from his tinkering, putting down a small, metallic figure from his hands. "She probably didn't even want to go with him in the first place, man."

Nico raised a sarcastic eyebrow at Leo, gesturing dramatically over to you as you let out a shriek of laughter.

"Oh," Leo looked away, "Right."

Throughout the whole tour, Nico kept glaring daggers at the back of Jacob's head as Leo went on and on about the interesting things he've seen today.

"Valdez, look," Nico grabbed Leo by the arm, "He's picking a leaf out of her hair!"

Leo glared at Nico, absolutely not giving a damn what you or Jacob were doing, "Dude, were you not listening to me this whole time?"

Nico bonked Leo on the head with his sheet of paper, "Y/N's more important than whatever you have to say."

This was bothering Nico more than it should have. Once he saw that Jacob was leaving you alone for a bathroom break, he approached you hesitantly.

"Having fun without me, darling?"

He smirked down at you as you gasped in surprise, though he wasn't able to hide how his eyes were filled with sadness and worry.

You rolled your eyes playfully and smirked back. "You've talked with Jacob yet?"

"Nah," Nico wrapped his arms gently around your waist.

You could tell that Nico was extremely jealous, clinging to you like a lost puppy.

You smirked, "Jacob has a girlfriend, you know. It's not like he's trying to get close to me. He's just a transfer student that needs someone to show him around."

"Oh," Nico's jaw dropped open slightly. He felt embarrassed, upset that you could read him so easily.

"I'll miss you," he tried to change the subject, tugging your body closer to his, "You know, after I graduate. Who's going to take care of you once I'm gone?"

"I'll be alright, darling," you gave his chin a happy little peck. "Cutie."

Sometimes, Nico forgot that you do, in fact, reciprocate his feelings.

A/N - and they go on a date, get married, and live happily ever after yippee

I wrote this oneshot during class again, since I was in a writing mood.

I don't know anymore how many words I would write in a day on average, as now I've been on my laptop every single day.

Whether it is for school work, personal projects, my ongoing book, or prepping my new post for you guys.

But hey, it's great fun for me :D
