Light the Beacon!
Malory POV:
A bouquet of red roses was the first thing Malory saw when she finally woke up.
She froze a bit when she saw a suit with a tie behind it.
'No, don't tell me everything was a dream and I'm back at my home being courted!' She screamed weakly in her head. But looking up, she saw it was just the detectives, staring down at her.
'No, don't tell me it was real and I'm back to being chased by them!' She screamed weakly in her head when all of the sudden she felt a soft hand being rested on top of her head. Her glance moved to her right to see that it was Tintin, smiling down at her softly as he saw her waking up.
She definitly had no complain about that situation.
"We haven't found the crooks yet." Thomson's voice finally reached Malory's ears. Seemed like the detectives were in the middle of a conversation with Tintin.
"But they won't get very far!" Thompson promised before switching looks with his partner.
And that's when they realized that Malory was now completely awake and aware.
"Ah, Malory! A-About this train business..." Thompson started this time.
"A most unfortunate misunderstanding!" Thomson finished with a little shrug.
"It's okay, Detectives, we understand." Tintin reassured before nudging Malory a bit, which made her give a look before she joined in.
"Yes, it's okay, Detectives... I'm sorry for the handcuffs thing... And thank you for the flowers, they're lovely." She said awkwardly.
"It's alright, Malory!" Thomson said.
"Actually, we didn't buy them. The nurse at the reception desk asked us if we could give them to you on the way here, said they were left by a delivery boy. And he doesn't know the person who asked him to as well. Must be a fan..." At Thompson's words, Malory gave Tintin a questioning look, but he just shrugged in confusion, having no idea but inside feeling jealousy at the thought of it being someone courting Malory.
"Well! You get some rest, Malory!" Thomson finally said as they walked out, waving over their shoulders.
"Yes, leave everything to us! Watch over her, Tintin!" Thompson said.
"Precisely, Thompson!"
"Mmm, I get the feeling of a deja vu-"
"WHOAAAOW!" Tintin and Malory flinched when they heard a cluster of the detectives' screams, water splashing and something metallic and hollow flipping before sharing a look of umamusement as the old argument started repeating itself.
"-Here, why don't you watch where you're going? -But I was following you..." The duo rolled their eyes and smiled tiredly.
"Real mystery, huh? Do you think the flowers are from the firefighters? Feels like it should be the other way around..." Malory wondered, making Tintin shrug.
"We may never know. But forget about this now. You're sure you're okay, Malory?" He asked, leaning forward to inspect her for any sign of distress.
"I am, Tintin, don't worry..." Malory reassured and turned to the chair where her clothes were to look for a candy she remembered having.
"Let's see, a spare hair rubber, my wallet, the torn note, my switchbla-" Malory stopped listing before turning on her back again, a shocked look on her face, "They took my switchblade..."
"What's that?" Tintin asked in confusion.
"They took my switchblade." Malory repeated.
"I'm not sure that's something you should yell in a hospital, Malory." Tintin said nervously.
