The Chicagoans' way of welcome.

No One POV:

"Chicago, the windy city, sometimes called America's getaway to the west, has fallen under the control of gangsters." Tintin read out loud what he was typing behind his working desk.

"I feel like this is a little too much." A young female voice commented as its' owner, Malory, entered the office with an amused smile, holding two mugs of hot coffee.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Thank you." He replied as she handed him one of the mugs before sipping from it while she sat down on the couch next to the desk.

"Alright, how about this?" He said, putting down his mug before starting to type again, "The Mob rules Chicago."

"Ummm... yeah, that's a lot better." She replied while patting the sleeping Snowy and yawning myself.

It was a late evening hour. Tintin and Malory were about to head to their rooms when they got a call from the newspapers' office that told them they are supposed to hand over an article about the arising crime in Chicago by the end of the week.

Being his normal, 'Up for a new job', self and her wanting to prove her worth to their boss, Tintin got one of his typewriters out while Malory made them coffee so they'll be able to stay awake.

But it was visible that it doesn't really work in Malory's case.

Tintin, noticing her state, smirked a little as he finally decided to let out what he has been thinking ever since they started working on the article.

"You know something, Malory and Snowy? If this story is supposed to be true then we're gonna have to prove that." He said as if it wasn't anything big.

Malory's eyes shot open in realization and her head snapped to his direction.

"Are you saying... that we're going to Chicago?" She slowly asked with a smile slowly creeping to her face at the thought of actually getting out of the boring routine they've been having ever since their adventure to find Rackham's treasure a month ago.

Tintin just looked at her, his innocent smile never leaving his face.

That's all she needed.

"I'll go packing." She said and flew to her room but not without letting out and excited 'Whohoo!' which Tintin heard and laughed at, going back to typing what he already knew from 'Chicago Post', the newspaper.

But it was just a bit from what was really going on Chicago.

'When will they strike next? Mob rules Chicago. City under corruption, bribery and double dealing.'

Screams of fright were heard as the shots, coming from the fast car, blew through the streets from the gunman, destroying their target.

One cop blew his whistle to call for help but it was too late.

'Crusader cop busts out. Town desperate for a volunteer hero.'

The car was dissapeared at the end of the street, as if it was never there.

And finally, some good news hit Chicago.

"Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Tintin and Malory are coming to Chicago! World-famous reporters are doing expos, on organized crime!" yelled the newspaper seller boy at the top of his lungs, quoting from the article that was under the title:

'Tintin and Malory are coming to Chicago.'

The news reached everyone's ears... everyone's...
