The Steal.
No One POV:
The clock above the museum's doors showed it's 8 o'clock, time for closing up.
The last person finally left the building and the night guard could finally close the doors, which is what he did.
He whistled a happy tune as he went through the rooms and ran a mop in them, turning off the lights in every room he finished.
Then he moved to the South African exhibit and started dusting them off.
While working, he passed a small idol from Arumbaya.
According to the map, the photos and the stories that surrounded it, the Arumbayas gave this statue to an explorer named Ch. J. Walker.
This idol wouldn't have been so interesting to begin with if it wasn't for the mystery of its' past life...
And for what happened that night...
The night guard finally finished taking care of that room and turned off the lights. When he noticed that he didn't turn off the spotlight on that idol so he quickly did and walked off to put the cleaning supplies back in their place.
Not noticing the flashlight that turned on and shone on the idol as someone made their way towards it.
After locking the supply room, the night guard started his night patrol and kept whistling happily as he bounced the keys up and down.
And when he reached the South African room...
"The idol!" He jumped when he saw that the small Arumbaian idol was gone...
Malory POV:
"Knees bent, arms tall, STRETCHhhh!" I chuckled and rolled my eyes but kept working on breakfast while listening to the music, moving one of my stray bangs out of the way, which soon fell back.
"Up! Down! Up! Down! Come on, Snowy!" I heard Snowy making some sounds from his place on the armchair, probably looking at the squatting Tintin.
"This is the way to wake up in the morning!" He announced.
I laughed when I heard Snowy growling.
"Tintin, let Snowy sleep, he's still tired from China." I explained as I grabbed another toast and started putting butter on it.
"Come on, Malory! Join me, it's really fun!" I chuckled at his words as I brought the plate full of toasts to the table.
"I think I'll pass. Besides, what do you know about fun?" I teased as I put down the plate, laughing and ready to get some coffee.
"Allow me to show you." I almost jumped when I heard Tintin's voice right behind me.
"No Tintin, no!" I started protesting as he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the middle of the living room but soon started to laugh as he took my other hand and started moving us around in some silly dance while counting to the beat of the music.
After a few moments of that, we finally stopped and looked at each other.
"Wow, you're in a quite awfully good mood today. I mean, I didn't take you for a dancer." I told him honestly.
"I have my moments." He chuckled, which made me roll my eyes.
"Okay Court Jester, go take your bath before breakfast gets too cold." I said and pushed him lightly towards the bathroom which made him laugh.
I walked back to the kitchen and started going through the fridge, doing my best to avoid looking into the open bathroom.
Every morning, when Tintin takes a bath, he leaves the door open so he could hear the radio with me. He knows he can trust me that I won't look and I never thought of doing that.
