Crystal Fragments and Glass Shards.

Malory POV:

"And following this mysterious story, yet another member of the Sanders-Hardiman expedition has been found in a coma." Tintin and I switched frowns as we leaned against the chest of drawers where the radio was placed on top of and heard the news, "Professor Reedbuck was discovered by police last night, unconscious in his bathtub."

"At least he didn't drown." I said, sitting down on the couch and patting the sleeping Snowy.

"Did you manage to contact Liz?" Tintin asked. I shook my head in response.

"Her butler answered. He said Lizzie and her mother are staying over at the hospital with her father, they don't want to leave him alone for a second." I explained, "He said he'll do his best to let her know I'm looking for her."

"Doctors are baffled by this mysterious illness and are studying other members of the expedition."

'RRRING!'

Our heads snapped to the door at the sound of the entrance bell.

"And in related news: The police have just-" The announcer's voice got cut off when Tintin shut the radio and went to answer the door as the bell rang yet again.

"Thomson and Thompson!" Tintin greeted.

"Hello Tintin! Malory!" They greeted back in sync as they came in and I got up from the couch to give them space and get some refreshments.

"We've just heard the report about Professor Reedbuck!" Tintin said as he jogged lightly after them and gestured them to sit on the now vacant couch while sitting on the armchair himself just as I came in with some cookies and tea, the detectives' favorite.

"Yes, dreadful business!" Thomson agreed.

"What do you make of it all?" Thompson asked us as they sat down while I sat on the arm of the sofa by Tintin.

"It doesn't make sense! Three members of the same expedition, ALL in a coma! It's very strange." Tintin declared as the detectives nodded slowly at his words.

"Strange is the very word." Thompson agreed.

"Very strange, I might add. Look at this." Thomson said as he pulled a small box from his inner pocket and opened it, showing us what was inside; Shards.

"Looks like broken glass." I said.

"Broken crystal to be precise. Found beside the victims." Thomson said as he tucked the evidence away.

"Fragments of broken crystal balls that the doctors say: Must have contained some sort of sleeping potion." Thompson revealed and our eyes widened as we realized what it meant.

"Then these are delivered attacks!" Tintin said as we frowned.

"But why? They have done something quite infuriating in the locals' eyes but go that far?" I asked more myself than anyone else in particular, getting a bit angry. I've met Liz's father a few times at my families' parties and he was always very nice and sometimes even told me stories about his other expeditions. As much as I didn't agree with the tomb desecration he committed, he didn't have an ill will and he definitely didn't deserve harm!

And so are the others!

"You'd better warn the other members of the expedition!" Tintin said seriously.

"Do you really think so?" Thomson asked.

"Yes!" Tintin stated.

"You mean to tell me you haven't done so yet?" I asked in disbelief.
