The Chase For the Sceptre.

Malory POV:

Sure enough, Tintin stopped holding onto the spot and was now running full speed after the theives, finding ourselves on a gravel road.

"Oh no! That's their car!" Tintin gasped at the side of a purple car taking off and disappearing in the turn, leaving us to watch them miserablly as they did.

"We've got to stop them before they'll reach the closest border!" I told Tintin, parying for a way when suddenly the sound of another car coming to us made us turn around to see the king's car with him and the detectives inside!

"Tintin, Malory!" The king called as he stopped the car and partily moved out, "What happened?"

"They've got the sceptre! If you could lend us your car, Your Majesty, Malory, the detctives and I will try to catch them." Tintin promised.

"Of course!" The king answered and moved out, letting us get inside and Tintin be behind the wheel.

No One POV:

"Faster!" The man who had the sceptre yelled at the driver as their car soared through the gravel paths of the mountains.

"I'm going as fast as I can!" He yelled back.

"There they are!" Malory pointed ahead, seeing the car that seemed to be slowing down.

"We're out of gas!" The driver exclaimed in disbelief as the car came to a stop.

"You Fool!" The first man shouted as the third turned around, spotting the royal car and pointing over at it, "Look!"

Tintin stopped the car just behind them right when they jumped out and started running up the mountain.

"They're still on our tail!" The leader grumbled, looking over his shoulder for a second.

"They're making a run for it!" Tintin said as they chased them.

"No, they stopped!" Malory corrected, seeing the three looking down at them.

"Go! We'll take care of them." The leader told his friend, taking out a gun along with the driver while the friend made a run for it with the sceptre.

Tintin, Malory and Snowy kept running up the hill while the detectives gasped behind them, taking off their jackets and wiping away sweat.

The first trio just reached their villians' level when a gunshot by Tintin's head made them hurry to duck behind some stones and take cover.

"Gracious!" The detectives exclaimed not too far from them before jumping to take cover as well. Tintin got an idea and turned to them.

"Stay here and draw their fire! We'll sneak around behind them!" He whispered loud enough for them to hear over the shots.

"Right-o!" The detectives replied, raising their hats with their canes before two direct gunshots hit them and sent them flying in the air.

"I say!" Thompson started.

"Oh dear!" Thomson finished as they followed their hats with their gazes.

"Keep your head down, guys!" Tintin ordered Malory and Snowy as the three began to crawl.

The shooting stopped for a second and the gunners started looking for any sign of movements. The detectives raised their hats again and once again they were shot off. This time making the two determained to off them and focus their shooting on them so they didn't notice Tintin and Malory glaring down at them from a level higher than them before jumping down to their level.

"Hands up! Don't turn around or we'll shoot!" Tintin warned as he and Malory held their hands like guns. Old habits die hard or just simply don't.

"Drop your guns!" Malory ordered at the surrenders who hurried to do as told. Tintin picked them up while she kept the pose until he handed her one.

"Thank you! That was very cooperative." Tintin smirked as he and Malory released the safties, making the ex-attackers look somewhat over before realizing what just happened and glare at eachother in anger and disbelief.

"Oh, come now! Don't feel too bad! You're not the first ones to fall for that trick and I assure you that you guys will not be the last." Malory smugly informed them as she moved to one of their sides while Tintin moved to the other.

"DETECTIVES! IT'S SAFE TO COME OUT!" Tintin shouted and the two peeked over before jumping out.

"Good show, you two!" Thompson praised.

"I say!" Thomson agreed as they made their way.

"Keep an eye on them while Malory and I go after the other one!" Tintin told them and once they got close enough, they threw them the guns, which they barely caught.

"The other one?" Thompson asked in confusion.

"He's getting away with the sceptre!" Malory explained before they took off up the mountain.

Meanwhile on the other side of it, the said other one was running down to where the border to Borduria was standing.

"Must get to the border!" He panted to himself as he ran.

"Can't let h-him reach the border!" Tintin panted out as well, he and his friends running with all their might.

But the fore he had on them was too much, he was very close to the border!

"Take my hand!" Tintin told Malory and the two ran off the path and jumped down on the rocks like stairs.

"The border! I'm saved!" The guy cried in happiness at the sight of the sign.

"NO!" Tintin and Malory yelled as they leaped forward, tackling the man to the ground.

The sceptre's tip lay next to the sign's pole, just a tad crossing it.

"Almost got across." Tintin sighed in relief as they looked up the sign. Such a simple thing but what a terrifying power did it hold!

Much like the sceptre...

"Are you alright, Malory?" Tintin asked, looking at his friend.

"I'm fine, just a few scrapes." She reassured before grabbing the sceptre and standing up.

"We have a long way to go! The ceremony begins at 8 tomorrow morning!" Tintin said once they've met up with Snowy up the hill they jumped from.

"I don't think we'll be able to get there in time, though. Even if we'll walk all night." Malory voiced her worries, looking up at the sky to see the sunset but instead she saw a plane coming down.

"That plane! It's landing!" Tintin said as they ran to the edge and looked down to see a small airport.

A Bordurian airport.

"How about a shortcut home, Malory?" He asked with a smirk.

"Easy for you to say. You're not the one who's going to be piloting." Malory joked, "You just watch over the sceptre."

Another pilot stood at the cabin's door, greeting the newcommer, who took off his helmet when they both heard his plane moving and looked over with gaping mouths that not only it was moving, but a girl was flying it.

"YAAHOOOOO!" She and her friend shouted at the top of their lungs as it soared into the sky, their hearts doing the same as they felt the relief wash over them at the thought of this insane story coming to a close.
